Rizzoli and Isles Subtext/Lesbian Vibe... Leztext Guide: 1.01 See One, Do One, Teach One

Aug 15, 2010 23:47

Disclaimer: this is in pure fun and while being gay myself I know that stereotypes aren't always true… but dammit I'm going to use everyone that applies in this :) Yes I ship them, no I don't feel that everyone needs to. This is supposed to be light and fun and if you don't see it that way move on.

I don’t think I need to explain this, but I’m lazy… R=Rizzoli I=Isles

Opening Scene:

Ummm nothing :) They're not in it!

Rizzoli Residence:

Rizzoli is a tomboy. She plays sports. She's overly competitive. She beats her brother at everything. R doesn’t take a hit like a girl. She roughhouses with her brother. She has a belt clip for her cellphone.

Crime Scene #1:

I is a girlie girl, who plays with dead people, and doesn't gag. I directs almost all of her comments to R, even if they're talking in a group. Instantly notices and diagnoses broken nose. Acts like popping out Jane's nose is an everyday occurrence.

So if the rest of the episode is right Maura really doesn't know much if anything about Hoyt, but her body language in this scene totally shows that she can tell this is serious and getting to her friend. She gets overly protective and annoyed that no one warned Jane. (Okay she totally knows what's going on but later they play it up as if she doesn’t fully know…. Blooper? )

Rizzoli has flashbacks of her dark past when she was an evil warlord before she met…. Wait, no evil warlord, just flashbacks that happen to be dark.

When Dean introduces himself, I instantly starts looking at R, like… now what? And smirks. R on the other hand, just looks annoyed. I polite smile, no teeth ;). R looks confused when I says he's cute. In getting defensive R goes to stand next to I (getting possessive over the case or her woman?) Maura looks at her like, 'what are you doing?' R looks surprised when I invites grant along and I gives her coy innocent smile.

Prison:

Hoyt points out how important hands are to R (just throwing this in there because it could be dirty).

Crime Scene #2:

R feigns annoyance by all things cute and fuzzy.

Guys make fun of R for wearing lipstick and her reaction is violence. Again all I comments are directed to R. R looks at Dean annoyed when he interrupts their conversation.

Morgue:

I doesn't just look up when R enters the morgue; she stares even though she is in the middle of an autopsy. They have a wordless conversation about Dean's wet prep (?) request: before and after.

When R questions Dean's strange hunch I backs her up with facts.

Morgue:

R bring I lunch. She obviously cannot cook. She brings them TUNA. We get a big long zoom in on the box. Dean calls it cat food. R says, "Guess it's a chick thing." I laughs knowingly.

When R gets scared, she looks to I, whose already watching her worriedly.

TV room with Doc etc.:

R spouts of random medical mumbo jumbo… She's not really a detail person when it comes to thing like that. Case number dates, yet, but medical stuff? Me thinks she's been spending lots of time with a certain doctor.

Rizzoli's Apartment:

Frost knows there is no convincing her (she will win). R refuses to be D.I.D.'d over (damsel…). Frankie feels the need to remind her she is not a guy.

Frost the Beta Male… takes Frankie and leaves.

This is a stretch, but the vacuuming. It's an action thing. Like any good butch/tomboy, she needs to be DOING not waiting or thinking etc. So in this case vacuuming just happens to be the vocation of choice.

According to 'mom’, Rizzoli can't even pick out make up, her attempt at going girly for guy, isn't a normal shade of lipstick. Oh no, it is bright pink (#fail).

Anyone else getting the Ida/Rhoda feel from R and her mom? *giggles*.

Isle's House:

Ah, the first of (from what I have seen) the many once-overs. I has wandery checking R out eyes. Now I'm not positive, but I don't remember Sasha doing this in any of her other roles *shrugs…. Just saying*.

R comments on how I looks like she's always ready for a photo shoot and graciously I acts as if this is R's discreet way of saying she looks good. I is also not surprised at all that R is there.

R pretends as though she knows what the hell I is chattering on about.

The bedroom ^^:

I turns down the covers for her, sort of. Okay really she just moves the pillows and crap out of the way…. But that's only because they don't get under the covers…:-P I'm sure if they did she'd have turned them down.

I looks guilty when the doorbell rings (no of course silly straight folks this has nothing to do with her work related cheating it's all about the romance kind of cheating).

Let us make note of the not lie I makes "somebodies just dropping something off". R suspiciously checks her watch. I shuts the door (she has to know R's going to look anyways; leaving curiosity alone is just not her thing). R listens at the door, looks, then tries to fake that she wasn't… *scoff*

I climbs into bed quite naturally and scoots way way way right night to R (and is it just me or did that bed look huge when they were unmaking it and now it's suddenly hmm the size of a full?).

R makes the crack about sleepovers and attraction. I laughs knowingly/awkwardly and avoids. R pouts because I won't tell her Dean details and tells I to go sleep in her own bed (there will be sleeping involved in this bed sharing? So she's not just there for a chat?).

I answers right away that she never liked the same guy as her best friend, but briefly hesitates over the next two questions. I feels the need to clarify that she's not seeing Dean. Then we awkwardly have to listen to how one of them should date him, even though neither seems interested. Apparently, the only way to spice this conversation up is with the prospect of them getting topless together… at least that's how R feels and I have to agree.

Sudden noise and we see the beginning of R's vulnerable scared side, which so far R has only shown in front of I. Her friends (Marissa), her family (mom, Frankie), her coworkers (Korsak, Frost): none of them gets to see this except Isles. I comforts her and physical contact. Lengthy eye contact.

Station:

So even though she slept somewhere safe, she still didn't get sleep ^^. R and Korsak do the awkward guy make up, but since it's a chick show, they both actually say sorry.

Crime Scene #3:

First thing R does is start to watch I. Then barely takes her eyes off her. R hand on I back. Extra close standing.

When R opens the ominous envelope, I gets closer. R also holds the note so they can both read.

Station:

I tunes in for R's outburst, even though she's mid conversations with Korsak. R shows annoyance/frustration at those cute little I quirks we all love (it's the married couple bickering people).

I leans in close. R almost hits I in the hip when she answers her phone as a result of closeness. R knows I is going to disagree with the events of their little trip, yet she brings her anyways, even though there's no real reason for her to be there since their plan is to not do anything. She has no doctor business (unless Boston HD is soo inept that they cannot tell if someone is dead or not), and she doesn't stay for the stake out.

Crime Scene # 4:

R makes a face when I starts to chatter again. I is completely oblivious. R kind of takes over much like a spouse and tells Frost not to bother and just go deal with other stuff. I gives in when R asks her to do it for her.

Stake Out:

R is OCD about smells, cleanliness etc. I honestly am starting to think this is a lesbian trait…. I'm seeing it more and more often. We do not like disorder. R gets antsy (another example of needing to be in action).

R tackles a full-grown male: fearlessly, not even hesitating :).

Morgue:

I knoooooows she's in trouble. I gives R the once over, several times… R can still be a badass while holding a cute adorable albeit filthy puppy. R is more annoyed that I didn't tell her she told Dean. I makes R give Jo a bath (so whipped). (During the bath after R says she's tired of being afraid I has to try hard not to do the once over AGAIN). Even the freakin' dog is frustrated with their sexual tension.

Rizzoli's Apartment:

R's' thank you so much' to Frost is obviously sarcasm (she doesn't want to deal with straight men hitting on her :-P).

Jo likes I, but growls at Dean. R, as usual, is overly defensive.

R tells him no and sounds appalled (yes for you straight people it's just her reaction to him treating her like a D.I.D… exactly how she acted when Frankie and Frost did the same…. Right….). With her many explanations of no, I'm led to think R's not in the dating scene or almost dating scene with men very much.

Station:

I brings R coffee. I is fully empathic as always. I feels the need to warn R about her soon to be career betrayal. R didn't want a pink canopy. More wordless talk. I gets more emotional than we have seen so far. While I can't seem to look her in the eyes as much as usual, her gaze keeps drifting lower.

Senator's Office/ Meeting Room Place:

R seems awkward and stalling when the dinner invite comes. R is not overly surprised that I is in her apartment. R forgets all about 'cute' boy.

Rizzoli's Apartment:

Dean has realized R is gay and doesn't even bother to ask why she ran off.

Crime Scene #5 before:

R doesn't lie there pathetically and wait for someone to rescue (no DID's here).

Is a total badass, while getting revenge, but not going over that line. Way to go non-dark side for winning.

Crime Scene #5 after:

(was that stutter planned? h-h-hot)

R brushes off another attempt at a pick up and Dean doesn't seem all the surprised. She is obviously not disgusted by him, even stops to thank him and make weird 'maybe if I wasn't gay' eye contact.

Rizzoli's Apartment:

R looks sad she's alone, until R and J get there. I brings R a turtle… good god might as well be a toaster.

I's little provocative shimmy. I saying 'so, where do you want me to start' sooo didn't sound like she was talking about cleaning (the bedroom!). R thinks this is a bit overwhelming (resisting Maura :) not cleaning) and thinks going out on a date with alcohol is a much better solution. I looks a bit confused but excited.

They bring their pet, COME ON PEOPLE.

Misc. / Side Notes:

Between Jane and Frost,… she is the obvious alpha male. He takes his cues by her.

Telling us a guy is cute, doesn't make him cute when he’s not. We're not stupid.

Also… every time I saw Dean I thought about Baily from Profiler. As endearing as he is, this could be why I couldn't see cute.

I hope the flooding bell-bottom pants go away for the rest of the season. They're just baaaad… and while I know, some lesbians are none for having less than wonderful fashion skills… I don't think this is a nod to us ladies.

I want frost and Marissa (the neighbor) to hook up. I've loved her since Miracles and she needs to stay :) … and Frankie is NOT ready for a gf.

Follow Up Notes:

So, this is a bit scattered and not as polished as I would like. Yes, I looked too deep and plan to continue. That’s half the fun, isn’t it? If you have anything I missed, let me know I’ll add it and give props. Take care all! Hope you enjoyed.
