Wow. Just wow. I really love Richard Siken's poetry and the fact that he ships it, so I clicked the story out of curiosity and I am just stunned. You didn't just do honor to the poem, you went beyond it. Retained the lovely flow of his words while making it so, so, painfully perfect for these two.
I loved the two contrasting POVs, both so perfect. I could not stop aching through either of them, they were so in character and the atmosphere was so thick with desperation and need and, best of all I think, inevitability. There were so many gorgeous lines I can't feed them all back to you, but I have to bring this one up because I think it just *is* so much of Dean: But your mind recoils and it’s back to square one all over again - getting stuck in the webs of right, wrong and what’s best for Sammy and not you.
