Name five 'iconic' novels that you've read that you think everyone should read. (Define 'iconic' as you see fit, but don't tie yourself to classics. Interpret 'novels' as broadly as you see fit as well.)
The Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick
Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Gormengast trilogy by Mervyn Peake
The Cyberiad by Stanislaw Lem
Beowulf
What are the next five iconic novels that you intend to read for the first time this year soon?
In the Balance by Harry Turtledove
Marvel Apes
Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges
Cyteen by C.J. Cherryh
Stand on Zanzibar by John Brunner
I don't have as much time to read as I'd like right now, and I'm mostly reading either popcorn or political history for some reason, so I'm not sure if I'll get around to all these this year. But In the Balance is on my to-be-read pile, and I will certainly pick up Marvel Apes as soon as it's available. I shall try to remember to include the other three in my shopping list, next time I'm out bookshopping.
