Well I kinda forgot about this whole LJ thing for a while, so I thought I'd make a little 'what ever happened to David?' post.
I turned 21 (and remember some of that night...okay not much but some). I went to the bar in Ferndale w/ my sister and some of the guys. since then the summer has been one giant blur of going to the bar to watch tigers games, watching tigers games from other places, and doing my best to escape the heat. in case you couldn't tell, I'm ridiculously excited about the Tigers' amazing season. the one problem with it... every year until this year, the Tigers would suck but would somehow win when I go. this year, they're the best team in the league and I've seen 5 losses and not one win so I have decided to stop going for a little while. it figures... the fan loyal enough to stick with them through years of sucking doesn't even get the payoff of seeing great games.
I'm doing a part time thing at the Herald as a front desk worker. it's not a whole lot of hours but it's something that should carry over into the fall and make that easier. I'm looking forward to school for the most part (with the exception of 2 classes I have with a certain someone who I've stopped talking to). my cousin had her Bat Mitzvah. I was so proud of her and it was good to see some extended family, even if Josh had to go to the ER instead of us going to the Comerica Tastefest. Eric's wedding was cool, especially the open bar part. I've been trying to catch up on some reading and getting to the rec more (speaking of which, there is not enough Biofreeze for how sore I am). Blaise is rarely around so I more of less have the house to myself.
The next thing I'm really looking forward to is the Ben Harper concert on September 1st and then the new BNL cd on Sept. 12th. speaking of music, lately I've been unable to stop listening to Jackie Greene. I got his new cd when it came out in mid-June and it's just so damn good. I saw Jackie Greene on Conan last night and it was awesome, although I have to say that he is a very odd looking person.
to summarize...
Being 21 is fun albeit expensive. Tigers rule all. Kzoo really humid. lots of good music
