Came home yesterday for Yom Kippur. the fast wasn't that bad this year. ended it with a little Buddy's Pizza. it was delicious.
Been running into random people left and right. Hung out with Shayne
last week for the first time in a year and a half or so. ran into Joe
Marks tonight (WTF!). I seem to run into that kid twice a year like
clockwork.
I noticed this year that I have quite a few issues about Judaism and
how services are often run, mainly with how the entire congregation
seems to pretend to speed read through entire sections at a time. I'm a
fairly fast reader of Hebrew, so when I'm going fast and the
congregation finishes a 5 page section before I'm half way done, I know
they couldn't have actually read it all. who are we trying to fool?
This is one of the biggest and first big problems I've have with
contemporary Judaism.
by the way, I know it may be a little late for the rosh hashana / yom
kippur thing, but if there's anything I've done or said to you in the
past year that was undeserved, harmful or just generally harsh, I am
deeply sorry. please let me know if there is anything. major or minor.
whatever. talk to me about it.
hopefully I'll be able to visit either UM or MSU this weekend. that'd be cool
It's been real nice having the car up at school for a few weeks.
I'm loving the baseball playoffs and with hockey and football also
being on, it's making it very inconvenient that so many test/midterms
are around this time.
