Fun and Games with Kaylee's Godparents
Kaylee's Godparents Robin and James are in town for the Laguna Pageant of the Masters on Wednesday, and we're attending with them this year! Today though, Kaylee got to spend all morning with her Godparents, as did Dad.
After a quick bagel breakfast we drove down to Santa Monica and were on the pier during the 5.3 Earthquake that hit Chino Hills, so we didn't feel a thing. We walked to the end of the pier and they were filming an episode of the Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show. So we got to watch them film a scene and the actress playing one of the Terminators (Summer Glau) used to be on Firefly, the TV show that featured the character Kaylee whom we named the child after. After the shot, I passed by her and said "Hi Summer, my daughter's name is Kaylee, and we named her after the Firefly character" and she said something to the effect "oh wow, that's one of my favorite names!" She was very sweet (for a robot!)
Then we walked through the games/carnival rides. I won Kaylee a stuffed kitty cat throwing darts. James and I played pinball, then the basketball shootout, and then the football toss arcade games. On the way back to drop them off we got rear-ended by an Irish guy who was very nice and apologetic. I got his rental car info, but doesn't look like there's any damage or injuries, though I'll call anyway, probably tomorrow.
Kaylee and I went swimming after we got back, and I spent the afternoon trying to get her to take a nap, though she didn't bite at all. She was asleep in the car the entire way back from Santa Monica, INCLUDING during the fender-bender! I have a feeling though that she'll sleep very, very well tonight.
So that's our exciting day, more excitement tomorrow and through the weekend, as we're going Camping this weekend up in Wheeler Gorge, near Ojai.
