This weekend I went to Howe Island Rockin' the Rock --- possibly the first time I've been to a music festival in 20 years (if not longer.)
As a 44-year-old, my recovery time is nowhere near as speedy as it once was, but I would absolutely endure the exhaustion, sunburn, and one million mosquito bites (not to mention the 2km walk each way to and from our friend's place where we left the car) for Wide Mouth Mason, any day.
Just a few photos - including my first ones with Safwan and Shaun. I LOVE when they pick me out of the crowd - and it would have been impossible not to, since I was literally reach-out-and-touch distance from Shaun for their set.
A few new songs, a bunch of hits, and I scored a set list from Saf, who told me to meet them over at the merch tent.
And, speaking of merch, I purchased my seventh WMM band t-shirt - and this one will fit me for a bit yet. (Those baby-doll tees from the early 2000s don't quite flatter my shape anymore!)
Here are my old ones (I'm wearing the new one, above, and it's in the washing machine right now!):
If anyone still reads this, thank you for sticking around! I might use this as the journal format it was created for, and keep my blog (www.jessicafoley.ca) for writing-related articles. So stick around, you might find more from me here in future!
