Mmmm coffeeee.....
Yeah, just what I wanted this morning. Odd. I don't usually drink coffee. And I'm not usually bored. But now I'm not bored - now I'm content to sit here and write about nothing in LiveJournal, which I also never do. Hey, it's an atypical morning. Excellent.
I got a really cool new stereo yesterday, because mine got stolen out of my front yard day before yesterday. It's branded "Insignia", which is Best Buy's store brand, but I'm sure it's made by somebody else. I can't believe it was as cheap as it was, and, so far, works as well as it does. It's got four preamp outs, in addition to a sub preamp out, it plays MP3 CD's, it has AUX in (dual-RCA on the back), a remote (like I'd ever want one), intuitive controls (much more so than my last one, a Blaupunkt MP41 - at least I think so), and, get this - it fucking has a USB port on the front for hooking up whatever USB stuff you want, like memory sticks, hard drives, whatever - as long as it's FAT32, I bet it would work. So far I've only used the memory stick, but hell, I bet an iPod would hook right in, or just a powered hard drive..... hmmm..... hehe. And this thing was only $108. I don't get it. I have not one single complaint about it.... yet. Oh, and it RECORDS TO USB, too - I mean, they're like WMA files at some low bitrate, I bet... lemme check the one I put on there yesterday.... yeah, it's 64kbit, but for recording radio shows, that could be fun and cool. Too bad the bitrate isn't selectable... I wonder if it's hackable. Heh. But in any case, I love the USB thing - for some reason, when burning MP3 CD's, I always felt like I had to have it all together - finalized or something. This way, I can just throw stuff on there and take it off again when I'm done listening to it... like I'm going to do right now with Tuatara - Breaking the Ethers, which is what I've been listening to for the past day or so.
Aw. Yeah. That coffee's kicking in.
Model number of this amazing thing for those of you who want one? Insignia IN-MP101. I am not affiliated with Best Buy in any way, and I'm sure they're an evil corporate entity... but this gizmo rules :)
