When Kim and Max moved out, they took our stereo receiver with them, because it belonged to Kim. We went without music for a bit. Then I decided to try the receiver that Kiwi had found in the dump. For some reason, I had decided that it was broken. It isn't. It's really nice, too. It's a Technics SA-DX1050, which was a $350 unit when it was new, 100W per channel and all the Dolby bells and whistles, etc... lots of inputs and A/V crap, none of which we will use. But it sounds good...
I wonder why the FUCK somebody threw it away. It has NOTHING wrong with it, as far as I can tell. It isn't even scratched up. Perhaps they lost the remote... which can be had new for $35 shipped :)
...and we'll never bother buying it a remote, because we're perfectly capable of getting up off the couch to adjust the volume.... or just logging into the .mp3-playing laptop and changing it that way :)
