My brain works better in the morning. It always does. I woke up this morning with many things in my head, among them exactly how to fix my back steps.
I hope.
Now I just have to see if I have the strength to carry through with it. I still feel stuffed up, but I don't think I have a fever anymore, or at least not at the moment. I feel cottonheaded and stuffed up and kinda gross and a little dizzy, but better than I have in a few days.
I had interesting dreams last night. I'll talk about them before they completely leave my head. There was one, not very interesting dream, that was very detailed, about driving my old Audi 5kcstqa around, and having the brakes not work very well, but the turbo was working perfectly. Then Jonah was driving this old Volvo 740 automatic sedan, color silver, full of junk, around for me because I had gotten it stuck partway down an embankment. He was driving it through radiator-deep water and knocking over small trees with it, and remarked that it must be funny to be in Europe, because you weren't allowed to drive boats there.
What?
In another dream, Kelly's older brother Griffin had discovered that he could imagine things into existence, and was being very generous about it, asking everybody he knew if they needed anything - he was loving it. This must have come from having just read "Good Omens", obviously.
There was also a dinner party at my mom's parents' house (who are dead), and I was playing the piano, which was up on this big pedestal that brought it to the level of the second floor. It was in this grandiose house, all hardwood and tasteful Oriental carpet, that my uncle Sherman had built. I was naked, and was only a little bit unsure that this was OK. I knew it was slightly strange, but everybody seemed to think that it was at least mostly acceptable. I was used to being the weird one anyway. I was nervous that maybe people didn't really want to hear me playing the piano - I felt like I was being obnoxious, but people kept reassuring me that I should keep going and that it was wonderful. I couldn't quite convince myself that they weren't just being polite.
Hm well, I guess that's about it for the moment. I should drink some water and maybe eat some food. We have fresh raw local milk.... mmmmm...... cereal....
