He doesn’t mean to get so frustrated, but he just can’t understand Kurt sometimes. He knows his son tries so hard, so incredibly hard to shield him from the really bad things. Part of him can’t help but hate that Kurt thinks he needs too. Kurt comes home with bruises, which he tries to keep from his father. Bruises that Burt thinks he should have been able to stop.
The worst part is he knows, honestly knows, that he’s the one who leaves the worst wounds, the hardest marks, because he just doesn’t understand.
