It wasn’t right, and it wasn’t fair!
Mercedes knew she didn’t really have any say in the way the world worked, so she could only do what she thought was best, and that was grab an extra rag to try and help Kurt wipe the hateful insult off his locker.
“To be fair, they at least spelled it right this time.” Kurt mentions off handedly, and she smiles before going back to trying to scrub the hateful word off. Kurt scrubs in a way that has to much practice behind it. It hurts her.
She hates that life isn’t fair

“If there are clowns, I will leave!” Puck states as he and Kurt enter the county fair.
“Why, you afraid of clowns?” Kurt asks and Puck sets him with the most serious look he’s ever seen from the mohawked boy. With all honesty, and in a very serious tone, Puck tells him exactly what will happen.
“I’m not afraid of them, but if I see one, I will punch it in the face. For being evil of course.” Kurt has to fight off the slight smirk on his face, because Puck seems quite serious about this.
“Of course.” He agrees.
