Ok, so I'm not totally surprised, but a little annoyed by my advisor at the moment. Apparently he has decided not to go to the ACS meeting in just over a week and wants me to give his talk. I've done a couple of experiments for this talk, but the bulk of it is some theory something-or-other that I haven't the foggiest clue about. Next week am I not only going to be setting up a gas line to be ready for some experiments using our $1,000/L gas the week after the conference (limited scheduling on important instrument deadline), I'm going to be doing a crash course on isotope effects, putting together the power point slides, and trying to put together a 20 minute talk that doesn't make me sound like a complete idiot. Oh, and did I mention that I'm trying to get job interviews scheduled for the week I'm there. I never should have mentioned to people last night that I was bored at work with nothing to do... my advisor was just waiting to tell me everything at 4pm on Friday afternoon.
