I'm over a year out of having gastric bypass surgery (May 9, 2007) and I've lost about 115 pounds. I'm very happy with the changes in my body and whatnot, however I feel more depressed than before surgery. I'm not sure how exactly to explain it.
The most noticeable change is in my relationship. We were together 6 months right when I had surgery, and those previous 6 months were amazing! Now, after almost 19 months, we fight SO much...and majority of the time it's me! I know the new-ness in a relationship wears off, but not like this. I'm just so blah. I mean I do have a lot of happy times, but I'm so monotone now. Like, not overjoyed, or in the pits depressed..I'm just HERE.
This isn't normal for me. :( It's been this way for a while and I can't pinpoint a certain thing. Like, I'm happy with my body, despite some flab and stretch marks. My job is a job, nothing great and nothing special. I have THE BEST boyfriend, nothing to be depressed over.
Am I missing out on vitamins from foods? Could that be causing this? I go to the doctor next Thursday and will ask, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem....
