of green tea ice cream and nerdy pickuplines

stuff that happened today in no particular order:

- i bought a laptop today! it all basically started when the parents and i were at this decrepit mall in the middle of USJ and a PC store in there was having a promotion. we spent an hour in there: my mom and dad harrassing poor EricTheSalesguy for cheaper prices/better free gifts and me pretty much going "mmhm" to anything my dad said and wishing the ground would open up and swallow me whole. Eric kept pasting on a fake smile and going "yes sir, yes madam, but i'm sorry lah we cannot give you this price, if can like that we go broke already lor" but my parents kept going on and on about "don't lie, we own a bookstore and we get CDs from a computer shop, we can go to that computer shop and get cheaper". i have thus come to the conclusion that my parents pretty much have no shame ;_;. we ended up getting the laptop at Harvey Norman's in Ikano. i have since named my laptop Bob until i think of a better name :D

- dimsum!!! it's been months since we had dimsum omg. and every time we have dim sum, we always order too much stuff: xiu long bao, char siu bao, siew mai, wu kok, (no har gaos this time!), siew yoke, char siew, some yummy beancurd rolls and some lamb cutlets in honey that dad couldn't resist ordering even though i warned him not to. i will now blame dad if my thighs get any bigger.

- walked around IKEA with Melissa and Claire! i LOVE IKEA! i love how they have nice little display rooms where everything's arranged so neatly into a tiny little space, making the area look spacious. we sat in armchairs, took pictures in the fake bathrooms (Melissa sitting on the toilet, me hiding behind the shower curtain HAHA) and played with folding tables (LOL THEY WERE SO AMUSING). we also contemplated having swedish meatballs (which was one of the reasons why we were actually in IKEA), but the entire area was pretty much PACKED with people on a Friday night, so we went downstairs to go look at candles and wire chandeliers <3

- met Andre for dinner at The Curve where we had Malaysian food at little penang kafe omnomnomnom prawn mee. will never get sick of the prawn mee there: one of the best prawn mees in town despite it being a whopping nine bucks! BUT you get two fairly large prawns and a huge bowl of yummy soup so i guess it's well worth the money.

- ogled the christmas decorations at The Curve! i'm fairly certain that The Curve will win that yearly Christmas decoration competition that all Klang Valley malls take part in. imagine this: towering Christmas trees in shades of dark green, gold, and velvet red, winged angels hanging low from the ceiling, a large domed platform with fake streetlights in the middle of it all, lit archs all over the eatery walkway... Christmas themed booths leading up to the courtyard outside Laundry, where they had MORE Christmas trees AND fake snow! Andre was like "HOLY SHIT FAKE SNOW. I HAVE GOT TO CHECK THIS OUT" and went further into the crowd, while Mel, Claire and i stood aside and watched. a couple of seconds later, he came back with a pout and went "what the hell? it's just soap!!!" and he had lots of soap bits in his hair. it was hilarious xD

- got green tea ice cream from one of the stalls: it was pretty much one of the best green tea ice creams i've ever had. thanks Andre!

- we stood over the whole camaraderie on the first floor and picked out a couple of people that we wanted each other to hit on with cheesy pick up lines. Andre dared me to go hit on this bespectacled boy who was manning one of the Christmas stalls with "I didn't know angels flew so close to the ground" but i didn't. oh well.

i pretty much love Christmas :)

lol, friends, christmas, family, food
