(Evidence)

For all his improv experience, all the don’t-think-just-do mindset, nothing came to his mind as he stared at the photographs in his hand. Ryan had no clue what to do with what he was faced with.

When he went to his attic to clean it out, he did not expect this. Not at all. He thought that nobody had noticed.

“Ry, Honey?” Colin’s voice startled him, and he jumped, automatically hiding the Evidence behind his back.

“I’m right here Baby, Ill be down in a sec.” Ryan quickly hid the pictures in his pocket to later be disposed of.

He didn’t notice the one left behind, his smiling face caught in time as he danced around with the village people Indian hat from the Whose Line set laying on the floor.

(I’m Here)

A sob caught in Ryan’s throat and pain slashed through his broken arm. He didn’t regret helping that little girl rescue her kitten from that tree, him being the best option with his height despite his bad back, but the resulting fall from the tall tree was not making him very happy.

“Shhh, I’m here Ryan, its ok hon…” Colin’s hand stroked through his hair, and Ryan relaxed instantly, his loves words and action relaxing him completely.
He knew that everything would be fine with Colin there.

(Funeral)

The gravestone glinted in the light, the words engraved in the black marble with golden letters, the date and the words blurring in teary eyes. It should have been him, it really should have.

“Ryan….Colin” He whispered the men’s names who saved his life.

They didn’t even know him much, he was just a kid they had known for three months, letting him stay after fining out he was homeless in his efforts to become an actor, quitting school and his parents kicking him out because he was gay. They had even adopted him so his Canadian butt would be able to stay with them in America.

And they pushed him out of the way of a speeding car. He couldn’t even blame the driver, who was an older man who had a heart attack in the middle of driving.

A tear rolled down his cheek.

“Papa… Dad….”

It should have been him.

(Puppy Love) * (In Loving Memory of My Best Friend, And my baby girl, Ellie-Mae 2007 Dec 2nd-2016 Feb 14th)

The sounds of yapping and yips and adorable yawn filled the room.

Ryan had a hard time choosing between all the pup, the Golden retriever puppy’s had only three left, two males, and one female. Colin and he was hoping for a male, but something about the female left him wondering. She was so timid, and the scare test left her a bit frightened, but she still demanded Ryan’s attention, as small as she was trying to make herself. Her adorable brown eyes reminded him instantly of Colin, the long lashes, and the wide eyes captured his heart, and when she yawned and attempted to rub her eyes with her paw, he melted.

He made his choice.

“Col?” Colin turned to him, and he could tell they were both thinking the same thing.

“We will take the female.” They spoke together, and they later found themselves driving home with a energetic, yet shy puppy.

It took them two weeks before they could find a suitable name for her, calling her PC, after a Canadian company (Presidents Choice, No Name Brand) before finally Finding a name.

“Ellie-Mae.” Colin smiled at him. Ryan nodded, a grin on his face, cuddling with the ball of fluff that was currently sleeping in his arms.

“Its perfect, Ellie Mae. Our baby girl.”

(Gloves)

Ryan laughed as Ellie stuck her nose in the stocking that was shaped like a paw.

“She knows its hers, its adorable, really.” Greg’s voice rang out in the laughter that filled the room.

Colin chuckled, and clapped Greg on the shoulder.

“It really is.” Ellie trotted up to Ryan, a package in her mouth that she dropped into his lap.

Ryan wondered what his baby girl had brought him, and the one year old puppy panted away happily.

“What’s this, Baby Girl? What did you bring daddy?”

The package had a tag on it that addressed it to him from Ellie, with a little paw inked on the tag.

“Did you get daddy a present?” A bark.

He opened the package, and found a new pair of expensive leather gloves with a soft moleskin lining.

“To replace the pair she chewed on.” Colin laughed.

(Blackboard)

Years ago, when Ryan was still in school, before he dropped out, one of the punishments that his teachers loved to use was writing lines on the blackboard. Ryan was usually the one staying after school to write them, line after line, he hated it. He hated writing anything since then.

When he got together with Colin, and they had their fist date, Ryan spent days trying to find the perfect gift for the man he loved, trying and failing, before he overheard someone talk about a poetry contest.

He spent another week, trying to put his feelings into words.
The happy tears and the huge kiss from Colin was enough to know that is was very much loved.

(Muse)

Ryan spent hours trying to think of the perfect gag gift for Colin for his 40th birthday. He went in and out of shops, spent time on the internet, his hated enemy, trying to find the right thing, before an add caught his eye.

“Open it.” Colin stared suspiciously at his partner. Ryan was known for his love of gag gifts on birthdays among the group of improvisers, and the whole group was waiting in anticipation to see what he was given.

Opening the box, he pulled out two t-shirts.

One said; “I’m with Captain Hair” and the other said; “I’m with the Neon Love Chicken”.

Colin wore it along with Ryan wearing the matching one for a week straight.
