Song Drabbles

Allo, I had the idea for these drabbles a while ago but I only got to it now so yeah, here they are :P The idea is to use songs sung by one of my new fav actors in the musicals he was in before he went to Hollywood. He was in more of them of course and sang more songs but I chose these 10 because they fit and I love them. I do know that most of you will probably stone me for using the Remixed version of Rent but that´s the one he was in so that´s the one I´ll use, not that the lyrics changed to my knowledge. Also, I definitelly recommend all 3 of these musicals!

All drabbles are 100 words long

Taboo - Out of Fashion (Britliners)

10 years of the show on air, more if you counted the radio version, and yet it had been oh so easy to forget them all. Tony, Paul, Josie, John, Mike, Steven, Sandi... the names went on and on; unfortunately the show went on without them. One by one they were pushed out by more and more performers like Ryan and Colin and Greg until there was no more space for them. One by one they were ignored by the “loyal” fans until nothing else mattered but the American version. Easy to hire, easy to crack jokes, easy to forget.

*****

Taboo - I See Through You (Jonathan/ Jeff)

Back when they had met on the set of Green Screen Show, Jonathan had been fascinated by Jeff, drawn to his looks and charisma and charm, falling for the self assured young man who didn´t worry about outperforming those more experienced than him. By the time of Improv-a-Ganza, Jonathan and Jeff were happily together and living the life. By Trust Us With Your Life, Jonathan was free of the poison that was Jeff´s lifestyle, free of the lies, of the alcohol and drugs. He saw trough the mask and uncovered the monster. He left before it could swallow him too.

*****

Taboo - Pie in the Sky (Colin/ Ryan)

The attraction had been legendary, so much that even fans couldn´t deny it let alone the other performers, least of all Colin and Ryan. It looked like they had always been a pair instead of 2 individuals, always reading each other’s mind, always finding excuses to touch, to kiss. Most thought something was happening and Colin wished it had. But in truth, Ryan had been scared of the relationship, drawn to it and yet running away from Colin. One day, Colin had had enough of the teasing and called it quits; he had been waiting for far too long already.

*****

Taboo - I´ll Have You All (Richard Simmons)

The way he got on the show had been a mixture of Dan Patterson wanting him as a guest and him telling his agent to get him on Whose Line. Eventually, his dream came true and he walked into the studio. They were even more handsome than on TV and immediately, Richard knew he wanted them all. Tall, chocolate, bald, speckled, raven, energetic, round, naughty... none would escape him! Perhaps he ought to start with the non-performing ones before it´s time to grope those on stage? The buffet of delicious males was set; all he had to do was choose!

*****

Taboo - Stranger in this World (Bob)

Even as a small child, he saw the world differently. He saw it painted with sounds, with beautiful melodies of happiness and laughter, of fear and tears, of friendship and love. He heard the symphony of wind, of rain, of a thunderstorm. He didn´t always know the name of things and people but he knew their specific tunes. His father wasn´t impressed, he wanted a normal child but his mother, she always knew. It was her who supported him, who helped his talent bloom. It was her who told him to compose and allow his music to make him soar.

*****

Avenue Q - The Internet Is for Porn (ensemble)

The first time they found it, Colin had blushed profusely, Ryan had choked on his Scotch, Brad and Chip burst into uncontrollable laughter and Greg simply snorted. They weren´t surprised that the fans noticed how touchy-feely they were with each other on stage but who could have guess they´d run so far with it? Greg had seen milder porn on hardcore sites than some of the stories contained and even Brad had to acknowledge that he was a nun compared to horny teenagers. But it wasn´t until the arrival of Jeff and Jonathan that they started writing their own stories.

*****

Avenue Q - Shadenfreude (ensemble)

They were friends above all but every now and again, one of them would get into trouble and the others couldn´t help but laugh at his misfortune till they were breathless. When Ryan head butted the light on Drew´s desk, when Colin had the microphone pack shoved up his ass, when Chip rode Ryan´s back, when everybody, especially Colin, was sexually harassed by Richard Simmons, when Chip almost poked Ryan´s eye out, when Tony split his pants, when Drew fell on the stairs while performing... the list went on and on. There´s no form of happiness more satisfying than shadenfreude!

*****

Avenue Q - If You Were Gay (Greg, Chip)

Chip had had enough, willing Greg to do something didn´t work so he decided to act. It was obvious that he had been eyeing Jeff and Ryan with hunger yet he would stubbornly tell himself it wasn´t what it looked like and that he wasn´t gay. Chip had never been subtle when on a mission and he practically ran Greg over with insinuations about his sexual preference and his cowardice to acknowledge it that kept him from getting what he wanted. Chip wouldn´t think less of him, Jeff and Ryan wouldn´t send him away. It was time Greg realized it!

*****

Rent Remixed - One Song Glory (Wayne)

There wasn´t much that Wayne truly wanted in his life. Sure, there were things he would have loved to do and some of them came true but there was only one thing he desired with all of his heart. He wanted to leave behind a legacy, leave behind something so unforgettable that nobody would ever ask “Wayne Brady, who was that?”. He knew that Whose Line wasn´t enough, that children couldn´t fill this void. One song, just one song is all he asked for. His song to be so powerful, so perfect, it would go down in history. Wayne´s song.

Rent Remixed - Without You (Jeff/Greg)

It hadn´t been until they split that Jeff realized how much Greg meant to him. The world wasn´t the same without him, it was somehow duller, less exciting, less colourful. Greg found out that a world without Jeff in it was boring, stupid, contrived. Both felt as if the sun was rising on the wrong side, as if the water was flowing up instead of down, as if the grass was blue and the sky yellow, the ocean dry and the land liquid. It was all wrong, until they met again and embraced, both willing to give it another go.
