A/N: 28th OCTOBER WAS THE LAST UPDATE?! Holy crap on a cracker....my apologies! This damn chapter went horribly wrong and I think I got it on a decent track, but I need to post it before I change it again and postpone by another month.....also, thanks for Rycolfan for reminding to sit down and get this bitch written out! ^^ And points to whoever guesses where I got the 20 questions from! I did a Xover with it!

The deserted warehouse district seemed impossibly large in the dark, enough to make one think that if they stepped foot in there, they’d never find a way out. Large buildings stood out amongst smaller ones, all of their walls either half or completely gone, stacks of bricks marking where they once stood. Wooden beams were scattered all over the place, some still attached to buildings, rotting away and looking as if the next gust of wind could knock them down. It looked like a ghost town and tonight, it would be supplied with some fresh ones.

“So you two remember the plan right?” Ryan asked the two men with him. Brad nodded, checking the barrel of his gun and the amount of ammunition he had with him. Wayne had argued that he didn’t need to carry any because he’d be with Brad the entire time, but Ryan had countered that by asking what he’d do if they got separated. Colin had gone to meet Greg and Ryan had led the other two to their positions. He was to remain with them until they were shown their positions and then he would take out the people on the roofs, either by knocking them out or taking them out permanently. He hoped to avoid the latter, but Colin had already told him that those he would kill were some of the most dangerous criminals around and he’d actually being doing the world a favor.

“They’re the sort who will rape women and then blind them so that they can’t be identified. We have been given permission to shoot to kill if necessary and you’re one of us now. Don’t show mercy that you can’t afford,” Colin had said. Ryan had still been reluctant until Colin had reminded him that his father had undertaken the same job before and had been just as unwilling, yet had understood the importance of his job. Ryan had readily agreed after that.

When the cocaine would obviously not arrive, Colin was positive that the dealer, a man known simply as King, would think Greg was double crossing him and once the fight broke out, Colin would alert the cops hiding about a mile away and they would take of the rest. Greg would no doubt try to escape and Ryan would be the one to ensure that he never did. Brad still wasn’t happy that Colin was allowing Ryan to kill, but he hadn’t been the one to see the full effects of Greg’s torture on Ryan and he grudgingly accepted that Colin knew more about it than he did.

“Okay, let’s do this now,” Ryan spoke up, sounding confident but Brad could see the tense set of his lips that belayed his fear as well the fidgeting that he still couldn’t hide. He didn’t bring it up however; Ryan didn’t need anyone to point out his fear lest it affect his performance.

“What do we do, oh great leader?” Brad asked instead, teasing him slightly and smiling as Ryan relaxed minutely, throwing him a reproachful look.

“Okay, according to the map, you guys should be able to get up to the look out point from....here!” Ryan ran over to the stacked crates on the backside of a small building which was about a couple of floors. The ground floor door couldn’t be opened without anyone noticing due to the amount of noise it would make and the best way to get in would be to scale the crates into the first floor. “Climb up. Once I see Greg and the others enter, I’ll take out whoever is around the rooftops. You guys keep an eye on the back entrance. The moment you see the case, alert me through our wires and start moving when I say. Don’t try to be heroes, you understand? And always maintain contact.”

“We’ll go over the plan again,” Brad offered, knowing that was the best way to calm Ryan down. Ryan nodded and climbed over the crates to their hiding spot, pulling Brad and Wayne up as well. Once there, they sat down in the darkest corner which was hidden the most and Ryan spread out the map of the district, pointing out what he could in the limited light of a torch.

“I’ll keep an eye on the front entrance from my spot,” Ryan started, pointing at his position, “when I see Greg, I’ll contact you through this,” he tapped the device attached to his ear, “and I’ll take begin to take out those who are guarding the roofs around you. This will leave you guys to get the cocaine without any snipers attacking you. Colin’s given me their location, they’ll be the first ones to go.”

“Won’t they notice their snipers dead or gone?” Wayne piped up.

“Colin’s the one to give the snipers signals to do anything so that won’t be a problem. I’ll prop them up so that it seems like they’re still alive. Just like a more literal version of Dead Bodies.”

“Ew.”

“Once you see the cocaine, wait until it’s in the district before going for it. There will be four men guarding it, all armed. Take them all out from a distance if you can with those tranquilizer guns I gave you earlier. It’ll knock them out for an entire day. I’ll try to get to you before that stage, but I may be late, so don’t wait for me. Once the cocaine’s in your possession, head back here and stay here. There will be a patrol circling outside so getting out is out of the question without being spotted and we can’t risk that. Plus, if they get reports that the cocaine is definitely here, they won’t leave and we have a better chance of cornering them. Once the fight breaks out, Colin will sneak away and meet you guys at the rendezvous,” he pointed at a spot near an exit, “I’ll do the same once I’ve dealt with Greg.”

“Sounds good,” Brad answered with a nod, “but you’re sure this will work?”

“Unless there’s some unforeseeable circumstance, yes. Colin’s been planning this for months and he’s ironed out all the details. It’s flawless, but there’s always something that’ll make it harder or easier.”

“And what do we do if that happens?”

A quick grin, one so fleeting it looked like a trick of light, “We improvise.”

“That’s something we can do,” Wayne nodded as Ryan began to pack the map back in his bag.

“Okay, I’m going to head over to my spot. Be quick, be discreet and be safe, okay? Follow the plan and everything should be alright,” Ryan checked his equipment once more before heading back out the way they came in.

“Hold on!” Brad stood up quickly and ran over to him. He pulled the other man to him and kissed him hard enough for both of them to see stars. Wayne made a face and covered his eyes, but there was a hint of a smile on his lips as the two men pulled away, gasping for air. Brad smiled and clapped his lover on the shoulder, “For luck.”

“For luck,” Ryan repeated smiling as jumped down from their hiding spot and Brad heard his footsteps quickly disappear as he ran to his place. He sat down next to Wayne and the waiting game had now begun.

“Is it bigger than a bread box?”

“Yes....and no.”

“Has it ever been on the moon?”

“Yes....and no.”

“Is it battery powered?”

“Yes....and no.”

“Oh come on!” Wayne protested, finally snapping, “You’ve gotta give me something!”

“Yes, I do....and no, I don’t!” Brad grinned, looking at the entrance through the binoculars again.

“I’m never playing twenty questions with you again,” Wayne grumbled, keeping his attention on what he could hear through his ear piece. The only message they had received till now was that Greg had arrived. That meant that the cocaine was on it’s way too and they were ready to do their part, knowing that Ryan was somewhere on the roof now taking out the snipers.

“I think I see them!” Brad whispered urgently, calling Wayne over and gesturing with the binoculars. Wayne looked through them and saw four men surrounding another who was nearly hidden behind them, but was very definitely holding a large case. This was what they had been waiting for.

“Ready?” he cocked the tranquilizer gun along with his regular one, though he hoped he wouldn’t have to use the latter. “I’ll take the ones on the left.”

“Gotcha,” Wayne aimed his gun with Brad and, with a silent prayer, sent the darts whistling through the air into the necks of two of the guards. They collapsed immediately, but they didn’t get time to load the gun again as the remaining two guards drew their guns and began firing in the direction where the darts had come from.

“These guys are trained!” Brad winced as a bullet came dangerously close to hitting him.

“Should have expected it!” Wayne blindly returned the fire. He just had to hope that no one heard these shots, though they were all using silencers. If they got reinforcements, he and Brad wouldn’t stand a chance. Darting a quick glance, he saw the cocaine bearer take off towards the right and cursed as another bullet shattered the brick next to his face.

“The guy’s making a break for it, we need to catch him!” Wayne yelled, ducking and avoiding another bullet as he moved to the hole leading out the side, away from the firing. Brad followed quickly and spotted a speck of clothes out the corner of his eye, the bearer.

“This way!” he gestured to Wayne and the two of them began running, struggling to catch up to the bearer who was much faster, despite the weight of the cocaine. However, they had trained especially for this and it wasn’t long until they had caught up to him, Wayne tackling the man down and Brad grabbing the case.

“Dart him!” Brad hissed, as the other man began shouting. Wayne took out one of the darts and was about to stick it in when the two bodyguards from before yelled and began firing at them again. Brad pulled Wayne up and they ran off in the other direction, but they were caught easily and the case was torn away from them as the bodyguards decided to use them for punching bags.

A harsh blow to the stomach had him tasting blood and struggling to keep his lunch down. He coughed and saw his opponent draw out his gun once more and decided to throw all caution to the wind and grabbed it, struggling to get the gun away from him before it resulted in their deaths. The man obviously wasn’t expecting that and his grip loosened, Brad managing to nearly tug it away from him.

Brad thought for a second that they just might pull this off, right before his opponent used his grip on the gun to pull him forward all of a sudden, throwing him off balance and then delivering a powerful right hook to his jaw, knocking him down just as Wayne received a similar treatment.

“This is going downhill,” Brad muttered to himself as he shook off the effects of the blow to his jaw and shakily got back onto his feet. The cocaine bearer was about to run off and leave the bodyguards to take care of them, right before he dropped to the ground like a puppet with it’s strings cut. It was just a split second, but the men’s attention was off them and both he and Wayne took advantage of that fact, leaping forward and hitting the men upside the head with the butt of the gun they had managed to wrestle away, knocking them out instantly. Panting from the exertion, Brad moved to the cocaine bearer and frowned at the clear sign of a bullet in the head, staining the floor beneath with dark red.

“What the....” Brad looked up in the direction of the bullets and felt his jaw drop as a familiar figure waved at him from the roof of the building a few yards away with a sniper’s rifle in his other hand. He shook his head in awe as the figure disappeared again and turned to Wayne, who was sticking the darts into the unconscious men and hefted up the guitar case of cocaine.

“Let’s go.”
