2006! ....um....uh....yay?
Hullooo All,
Well a new year is dawning...has dawned...whatever ;-p. Had a great Christmas in Maine with Sam's parents and my Gram. The stay is never quite long enough...course if she had her way I'd stay indefinately :-). Then went a little more than a hope skip and a jump to Homestead Florida to see my folks for New Years. It's about 45 minutes south of Miami. Had a great time meeting Mom and Dad's neighboors. Their kind of "island" has 10 houses that all open onto a community back yard where each house hosts a party once a month. For once in their lives my folks seem comfortable...and about damned time too! Dad is continuing to grow his hair out...for those of you who don't know he spent about 29 years in the Army so this came as a bit of a shock to me! He looks like he could be on Jimmy Buffet's road crew (yay Jimmy!).
Now I'm back in cold wet Philly. Had my first class at the Rock this morning, I've had worse. I made the mistake of stepping onto the scale when I got back home. It's too bad you can't bribe the laws of physics and gravity to suite your needs sometimes. Oh well I'm about 35.5 lbs away from my New Years resolution goal...which is also frankely a reality in my chosen career. (ho hum). Anyway as usual I'm running behind schedule. I need to have prof. headshots and full dance shots done (yippee) 'cause my first audition is Jan 22 at Houston Ballet. I'm gonna have to do a lot of traveling this go around 'cause not many of the ones I checked are auditioning in NY, but a few are. I have no idea what a lot of these places are looking for so I'll just have to put myself out there. I'm auditioning for companies in Boston MA, Nashiville TN, Austin TX, Houston TX, Pittsburgh PA, Charllotte NC, Miami FL, and maybe some in Chicago IL. I've checked a lot of the company member photos on their websites, mostly to see what their men look like (they're all so damned pretty!). No chance in telling how I'll do. Mom supports me in all this and said if I need to travel not to worry about it. I'm not sure when she came around to the idea of my dancing but I'm glad she did. Well I gotta go and do more stuff...dunno what yet.....maybe take a sledge hammer to the scale...ooohhhh that sounds fun. Hee hee. Luv you all post ya later.
