Communications, Politics and the Law

It has been quite some time since I have updated in this little ole' journal of mine, but I see that not many people update anymore.

To get to the point, the semester is finally over! I have completed what will be considered my hardest semester to date, with the heavy class load of Constitutional and Criminal Law courses.

In recent times, I have decided that the law is not the thing for me. I don't see myself going to work at 5:00 in the morning and leaving at midnight-1:00a.m. I don't see myself drafting briefs, contracts, subpoenas, and the like. I see myself as a public official, or as one who coordinates those within the public sector. I have decided to take the route of Political Public Relations, with the intent to attend the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Some are shocked with my decision, and some have said "I knew it" or "I could have told you that". I wish I had heard it earlier than my Junior year in college, but now is better than later. I am becoming more involved with politics as we speak, working as the Director of Communications for the Students for Barack Obama at WMU, as well as a recently appointed position of the Student Affairs Chairman for WMU's student Government.

I am still a little lost and confused, because I have not had any experience with politics, as that was not my original intended field, and I feel as though I am eons behind all of those who are going into the political field. I do intend to run for office someday, but a little more experience is what will be needed. If there is anyone who would be able to help me out in this respect, please let me know!

In other news, the summer is on its way, and that means working and relaxing! I am very excited about moving into my new place, as the location being in the heart of Kalamazoo. I will be living with two of my dearest friends, Amber and Heidi.

If anyone will be in the Kalamazoo area this summer and if you wish to get together, please let me know.

I must be going now, as there is still some work to be done. Best of luck to all the recent college graduates!!
