“Welcome back to Whose Line is it Anyway?” Drew announced as the producer signaled for the show to continue. “Next we have a game, my favourite game actually, called Scenes from a Hat. This is for all four performers.”

Ryan Stiles pushed himself out of his chair with a grin at Colin who was already standing in place on their half of the stage.

“You're just raring to go today.” he said, voice just low enough to avoid being picked up by the microphones. Colin Mochrie turned to face Ryan, his face serious but dark eyes glittering with humour.

“I just want to get to the break.” Colin said quietly, the hint of seduction in his tone only audible to Ryan. Ryan felt a flash of heat run through him but had to stifle any further reaction as Drew finished his introduction of the game. He quickly threw himself into the scenes and was waiting on the step for the next suggestion when he heard Drew give an evil little laugh. Ryan exchanged a quick roll of the eyes with Colin, both knowing something involving one of them was coming up.

“Things bald men are sick of hearing.” Drew said, with a significant glance at Colin. The Canadian allowed himself to be pulled onto the stage by his fellow performers, playing the foil perfectly as always. Finally Drew decided that enough was enough and pulled out the next suggestion.

“I'll stop it now for you,” he said.

“Oh thanks,” Colin laughed a little incredulously. “Just in time.”

“It was a suggestion you know, it's not me.” Drew defended himself, knowing he should have moved on quicker.

“Yeah, stop at ten I say.” Colin replied. His good natured smile letting the others know he hadn't taken any real offence. The game moved on and finally a break was called. Colin and Ryan took refuge in Ryan's trailer as it was closest to the set.

“You know, sometimes I miss Clive,” Colin said as he sat down on Ryan's couch. Ryan leaned against the wall, a small smile playing around his lips.

“Too many bald jokes today?” he asked, careful to keep his tone light. He knew Colin didn't like to be mollycoddled but sometimes he worried that the other comedian's feelings would one day get hurt. He did tend to bear the brunt of a lot more personal attacks than the rest of them. Colin just shrugged in answer and Ryan made a mental note to tell Drew to back off for the rest of the taping.

“You're too far away.” Colin said, patting the couch beside him in clear invitation. Ryan crossed the space between them in two strides. He pulled Colin to his feet, lifting his face towards him, brushing his lips against Colin's in a gentle kiss.

“That better?” he asked, moving his lips down to Colin's neck and licking at the exposed skin.

“Mmm, much better.” Colin pulled Ryan back up so he could reach his clothing, his nimble fingers made short work of Ryan's tie and shirt. Ryan growled in frustration as he fumbled with one of the buttons on Colin's shirt.

“Patience,” Colin chided gently as he moved to help. “I don't want to have to explain any more missing buttons to the wardrobe mistress.”

“Screw patience.” Ryan said as he stripped off his trousers and underwear. He watched with hungry eyes as Colin did the same, admiring the blush that rose on the other man's cheeks as he noticed Ryan's rapt attention. “You're amazing.” Neither was sure who moved first but suddenly they were in each others arms. Adrenaline and arousal surged through both of them as they worshipped each other with their hands and mouths. Ryan pushed Colin back against the trailer wall and dropped to his knees in front of him. He grasped Colin's straining arousal in his hand and looked up to make eye contact with Colin at the exact moment he took him into his mouth.

“Oh sweet Jesus, Ry.” Colin breathed as Ryan's talented mouth swallowed him whole. He let his head fall back to thump against the trailer wall as pleasure ran through him. All too quickly Colin could feel tension building inside him and he had to push Ryan away or risk ending the festivities too quickly.

“You okay?” Ryan asked as Colin helped him to his feet.

“Want you inside me when I come.” Colin reached down to stroke Ryan's length. He smiled as the taller man groaned and leaned against him for a moment.

“The couch.” Ryan said when he finally found his voice. Neither moved for a moment before reluctantly separating. Colin draped himself across the couch, looking up at his lover with bedroom eyes. Ryan hastily retrieved a tube of lubricant before settling himself between Colin's thighs. He slicked his fingers and pressed them to Colin's entrance, leaning over to kiss the other man before slowly sliding his fingers inside. Colin met Ryan's mouth eagerly, their tongues entwining. Colin's breath caught in his throat as Ryan's long fingers hit that spot which made him see stars.

“I'm ready Ry,” Colin gasped, holding back an unhappy moan as Ryan's fingers left him. He hated that empty feeling but knew it wouldn't be there for long as Ryan's body covered him.

“Love you Col,” Ryan whispered as he pushed into Colin with one smooth thrust of his hips. He stilled for a moment allowing Colin to adjust to the size of him. Finally Colin's expression cleared and his dark eyes filled with mischief once more.

“You gonna stay there all day?” Colin asked with a smile. “Or are you gonna fuck me?” Ryan felt excitement rush through him at the hint of challenge in his partner's tone.

“Oh I'm going to fuck you alright.” he answered with a matching grin before pulling out and thrusting back in deep. The sudden movement took Colin by surprise, his body jerking and a loud moan forcing itself from his throat. Ryan purred in approval at the sound as he began to thrust in earnest. Both men loved nothing more than the challenge of making the other lose control whether it was on stage or in the bedroom. Colin lifted his hips to take Ryan deeper, revelling in the feeling of being filled so completely. Ryan's hand found Colin's arousal and began to pump it in time with his thrusts. The Canadian almost pushed Ryan's hand away, wanting the moment to last but he knew they were short of time and it felt too damned good anyway. Soon both men were left trembling in the wake of their orgasms as they lay together, neither wanting to be the first to move.

“I love you.” Colin said, threading his fingers through Ryan's. He couldn't help but tense up for a moment as he felt the warm metal of Ryan's wedding ring press against his skin.

“Col?” Ryan sensed the shift in mood and looked at Colin, concern shining in his green eyes. Colin could see the worry and the love written across Ryan's expression and locked down his melancholy, making a conscious decision to just enjoy their time together.

“Dan's gonna kill us if we're late back, you know?”

“Dan can kiss my ass.” Ryan said, burying his face in the crook of Colin's shoulder. Colin laughed quietly and pressed a kiss to the top of Ryan's head.

“You coming to my apartment tonight?” he asked and hoped that he didn't sound too needy. His worries were relieved when Ryan nodded immediately.

“I'll go to my hotel first and pick up some clothes,” Ryan said. “I'll come over about eight?”

“I'll cook.” Colin offered, pleased when the other man hummed appreciatively.

“Can we have the chicken with the stuff?”

“Only if we get up now,” Colin said. “Not all of us have two network shows.”

“Ha ha.” Ryan finally prised himself away from Colin, looking down at their clothes strewn all over his floor.

“This is your five minute call Mr. Stiles!” a voice yelled from outside the trailer door, making both comedians jump. Ryan and Colin stared at each other for a moment before both leaping up and scrambling for their clothes. They hastily cleaned up and dressed, laughing as they jostled and shoved each other out of the way. They managed to get ready with only seconds to spare. Ryan ushered Colin out of the trailer first and slammed the door shut behind him. Dan was not best pleased when they appeared on set breathless and dishevelled but neither man cared very much.

Ryan couldn't keep the grin off his face during the trip back to his hotel. The rest of the taping had gone smoothly for a change. He and Colin had been in tune with each other and had made nothing short of magic on stage. And they were hopefully going to be making a little more magic later, Ryan thought with a shiver. He let himself into his hotel suite and came to a halt, his eyes widening as he caught sight of the petite woman perched on the couch.

“Hello honey,” Pat said, her voice jarringly cold in comparison the the welcoming words. “Pleased to see me sweet heart?”

“Pat, hey, what are you doing here?” Ryan asked, not sure whether he was more surprised at his wife's unannounced arrival or her seemingly bad mood.

“I saw an interesting show today.” Pat said, ignoring Ryan's question completely.

“Okay...”

“How long have you been fucking Colin?” Pat asked, her voice as cool as ice. Ryan felt panic flutter in his chest and automatically adopted a blank mask, his acting skills serving him well.

“What are you talking about?” he asked, distantly pleased that his voice didn't waver. Pat only looked back at him. When Ryan said nothing further she let out a bitter laugh. Her slim hand reached out and grabbed the remote control, pressing a button which bought the television to life.

“You gonna stay there all day, or are you gonna fuck me?” Colin's voice echoed through the surround sound.

“Oh I'm going to fuck you alright.” Ryan's eyes widened as the screen filled with the stark image of him and Colin, naked and writhing together on the couch in his trailer. Their moans filled the small hotel room, what had seemed so natural at the time now bordered on the obscene and Ryan had to resist the urge to cover his ears. Pat hit another button and the image paused on the screen. Ryan couldn't help but study it. Colin's mouth was half open in a pant, his eyes closed, his expression one of pure bliss. Ryan was leaning over him, a wicked smile paused on his lips. Their faces were flushed and a bead of sweat had been stopped halfway on it's journey down Ryan's back. Both of their wedding rings shone dully in the frozen picture. Ryan felt numb. Another flick of Pat's delicate fingers and the image was swallowed by black. Ryan blinked and slowly sank down onto a chair, he put his head in his hands and tried to think clearly. After all these years his secret had finally been revealed, and in the most brutal of ways. What the hell was he supposed to do?

“I'm sorry.” he said, knowing that the phrase was completely inadequate. Pat seemed to think so too as she laughed that strange, bitter little laugh again. Her eyes were brimming with tears and Ryan felt the urge to sweep her into his arms like he would always do if she got upset. He didn't move from his chair. Everything was different now.

“Not sorry enough,” Pat said, her voice somehow different than Ryan had ever heard before. “Not yet.”

“...I have to admit that he is my best friend,” Colin sang his favourite hoe down verse softly to himself as he pottered around the kitchen. He seasoned the gravy, which had been bubbling away for the last few minutes, and glanced over at the clock. It was almost eight o'clock. He couldn't help the excited bounce to his step as he walked into the dining room and laid the table for two. The smell of the chicken made Colin's stomach rumble as he pulled it from the oven and set it on the counter to rest. After five minutes he carved the chicken, poured the gravy into a gravy boat and moved both to the dining room table. He looked at the clock again. Five past eight. Colin frowned, Ryan was never late when Colin had promised to cook for him.

“Come on, Ry.” Colin said, drumming his fingertips against the polished table. By half past eight Colin determined that the gravy was ruined and sadly poured it down the drain. He half-heartedly picked at the now cold chicken but his hunger had been banished by his worry for Ryan. He couldn't shake the thought that something must have happened for Ryan to stand him up and Colin's over-active imagination was all to willing to provide ever worsening scenarios.

“Just call him.” he told himself after driving himself almost to the point of hysteria imagining Ryan in a car wreck somewhere between his hotel and Colin's apartment. Colin picked up the phone and punched in the number for the hotel.

“Room 501 please.” Colin said to the cheerful operator. He listened to the phone ring and tried not to bite his lip too hard, wondering what he'd do if there was no answer.

“Hello?”

“Ryan!” Colin exclaimed, relief washing over him. “Thank God, I was starting to get really worried here. Why are you still at your hotel? I've been waiting.”

“Pat's here.” Ryan said and Colin felt cold.

“Oh.” That was all he could think to say.

“I'll see you Monday.” Ryan said and hung up the phone before Colin could even say goodbye. He put the phone back in it's cradle and tried not to let disappointment overwhelm him. Colin cleared the table, throwing the untouched chicken into the trash and washing the dishes with a little more force than necessary. When he had finished he walked into the bedroom and lay down on his back on the bed. He couldn't help but glance over at the empty space next to him.

Colin could hardly believe that only that afternoon he and Ryan had been making love. The summers spent filming Whose Line were always special, it felt like it existed outside of their normal lives. That Ryan's wife had intruded on this existence was a rude and unpleasant surprise. He hoped she didn't stay long. Knowing that Ryan was probably curled up in bed with Pat made Colin feel even worse. He didn't get much sleep that night.
