I love their interaction in this, particularly that burger joint thing. ^_^ You do such a great job of making them real. Like Colin's thing about not making a fuss about his birthday but still wanting people to remember. It's so... human. And I love how Ryan seems to get that and doesn't make a big deal about it. ^___^
*laughs evily* The fic of one-commentness is found!
I remember this fic, I don't know why I didn't comment the first time around. You never finished it, though, did you? I mean, there are more parts, but never the end?
*looks at the date* Oh, this was written just before my birthday! *smiles* And just after Colin's, which I suppose was your goal :)
I really liked the "Happy Birthday dear nuh-nah.", I think eveyone has major hate for that phrasing.
He hates people making a fuss, granted - but a tiny part of him hates, even more, people not remembering Yeah... I can imagine that being Colin. I like how Ryan just understands Colin not wanting a big deal but still a tiny bit of a deal.
*sigh* This is so pre-slash, because it shows what great capability of communication and understanding they have. And it's cute. Sweet. Emily would like this too :)
*small, totally ignorable voice* Maybe you should write some more? ;)
No, I never did. Posted the first three of four parts, then ... yeah. The fourth part was soppy, even for this. So it just ... stayed on my computer. :P
And man, this must be old. I remember - you posted in your LJ that it was your birthday, didn't you? God. I spent ages staring at that entry, then finally decided that I didn't know you well enough to say Happy Birthday. *cracks up* Oh, what a sad child I was ... ^_^
Hah! I found it too. *pounces* You wrote this before I was officially in the fandom anyway, so I kind of have an excuse. Although I was lurking at this point... Just not posting yet. *g*
Anyway, I liked it and thought it was adorable how Ryan keeps surprising Colin on his birthday even though Colin doesn't quite want it, but he can't say no, and Ryan just keeps pushing... It's so them. LOL. And then I think Colin almost comes to look forward to having Ryan do something special for his birthday, even though he kind of puts up a weak protest.
Did you ever finish this? I found part 2 and 3 but no 4! And now I want to know what happened.
*cracks up* This is embarrassing. *stabs fic* Just let it die, people. ^__^
And - ROFL - I think that's totally an excuse.
Uh, *looks sheepish* no, no Part 4. *snickers* Because we'll all fall over dead the day I actually finish a WL fic. *pauses* I haven't yet, have I? Gah.
