WHOSE CHRISTMAS IS IT ANYWAY?
December is almost upon us, which means it's nearly time to start opening our annual Whose Line drabble advent calendar. ^_^
Starting on December 1st and running until December 24th, there will be one festive prompt posted every day to spark your muse. To do this, of course, we need suggestions for prompts so please comment below with some festive/winter themed words to get the ball rolling. Prompts should only be one or two words, rather than a whole sentence. For example - 'Ice Skating!' It would be great if we could get some different ones to last year, too. Put your thinking caps on!
Comments will be screened to keep the element of surprise. Submit as many or as few as you like - anything you have to offer would be appreciated. You have until the 30th (Friday) to do so. :)
As for the rules, this is intended to be a simple stress-free drabble challenge. Ideally your drabble should be exactly 100 words, but, hey, it doesn't matter too much if you're a few words over or under. It's Christmas, right? ^_^ If your muse sparks and you want to continue your story a little longer, you can do a series of drabbles for one prompt - as long as each is clearly defined and around the 100 word mark.
Here is an example. And, of course, you don't have to do all twenty four prompts if you don't want to, just grab whatever takes your fancy and have fun!
And you can do anything you like with the prompts - any WL/IAG pairing, any genre, slash, het, or just a friendship piece. If you can't decide which pairing to go for, or you'd like to challenge yourself, try one of our
Whose Line random pairing generators for unusual and often hilarious results. :P
You can post your work whenever you want to (it doesn't have to be on the same day as the specified prompt), and you can post several different ones at a time if you like. You could even do the same prompt more than once if you want to write a different take on it. It's totally up to you. Just make sure you specify which day and prompt you're writing for in each drabble header (for example: Day Ten - Ice Skating) along with the usual header info, and tag your posts with the Advent Calendar Drabbles tag. And, hey, if you're more of an artist than a writer, why not do a drawble instead? Just like a drabble is a small piece of writing, a drawble only needs to be a quick sketch. The choice is yours. Let's just have fun!
So start submitting those prompts and, as always, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. :)
