Well, we've got our Sun to thank for this one making a return 3 years after I started it and 2 years after I posted the first few chapters here. She's a slave-driver, that one -- I wrote 11 chapters and thought I was finished, but she came back with "No! You must write a prologue!" *whip sound*

You already know what I think of this story, so I'll be (somewhat!) brief :) This prologue just blew me away. It so cracky and surreal feeling, just like a good weird dream should be, and it sets the tone for the rest of the story. But what really gets me is the poignancy. You're showing us right away how alone Jeff really is, and how complete his life could be if he could just find that someone he wishes was in his life. I can just imagine how awful it was for him to wake up from his dream, thinking he had finally found The One and then realizing he's still alone *sniff*

You have me really invested in Jeff right away, and hoping it'll all work out for him in the end. Hmm, I wonder? :)

Well, credit where credit is due, sweetheart -- this prologue wouldn't even exist if it weren't for you! Even though my first reaction was, "What? She wants me to write more? D'oh, I thought I was done!", I'm so glad I wrote it -- I had so much fun just sitting here cackling to myself over my laptop :-)
