OK, whichever one of you smartasses (I suspect the most likely culprit would be you, Mr SJD) left an "RIP" comment on this journal earlier this week, here is an update on my end:
College of Law
- I will start my College of Law postgrad studies in December 2006. Will be doing this parttime, which means I will finish up by July next year (course is 6 months part time).
- After this, I will head across to the Brisbane office for a secondment, to complete my supervision component. At this stage, the plan is to head across from about August 2007, for anywhere from 6 mths - 12 mths.
Oaktree National Conference
- In other news, I have volunteered to be part of the national Working Group helping organise the upcoming Oaktree National Conference. (On another note, why people in this organisation insist on using the term "inaugural" all the time is beyond me).
- As part of my role on the Working Group, my mandate is to encourage as many WA delegates as possible to the Conference, to assist in securing sponsorship for the event, and to assist in developing content for the Conference. Fun stuff.
- The National Conference will capitalize on the mobilization of our volunteers nationwide who will be in Melbourne for the Miles Per Hour advocacy campaign, which is being organised by Oaktree on behalf of the Make Poverty History Coalition.
- Miles Per Hour is in turn being organised to coincide with the meeting of the G-20, which is being chaired by Treasurer Peter Costello.
- The bottomline? I will be in Melbourne from Nov 17 2006 - Nov 19 2006 for Oaktree related purposes, and will probably stay on for a few days for a little rest and recreation.
