Summary: "Ken visits an old friend in a graveyard and instead meets up with an old enemy…Nagi."
Read this because in the space of fifteen minutes (or however long it takes you to read about 3,000 words), you’ll encounter something that you’ll remember for a long time to come.
The story is simple, though not as to say it's light. There’s a distinct twinge of humanity in Ken and Nagi’s actions that speak volumes. Despite their being an assassin and a psychic bodyguard, they're relatable.
That's the thing I love about Mirrordance. She has an incredible understanding of emotions. And she truly knows how to tell a story such that it becomes a memorable experience for her readers. The right words at the right time, and I’m moved to tears. Or to a sweeter, more subtle ache-as with this fic.
More than just an accessory, the rain here really makes the story. The bit about the umbrella at the end is fitting and just...absolutely perfect.
Mirrordance deserves every praise she gets. Read this story, and you’ll start to see why.
