For my friends requiring a gluten free menu or looking for a yummy new taste.
I was looking for nutritional information about the food at
Legal Sea Foods when I stumbled upon the following:

Of particular note, says O'Neill, is the success achieved by Laureanno in qualifying the fried food category. "Food is typically dredged in clam-fry mix prior to cooking in oil, so the whole fried food category was off-limits to Celiac sufferers. But Jeff found an alternative. He uses an egg-wash, then a straight cornmeal coating that is tolerated by Celiac people, and he sautes the food rather than deep-frying it. Consequently, we call it 'Crispy Seafood' on the Celiac menu, rather than 'Fried Seafood,' but it tastes great and these diners love it."
In the past, we would go to Legal Sea Foods and I would always order the sauteed scallops, usually in butter. Several years ago, the sauteed seafood appears to have been replaced with wood grilled seafood. I do not care for grilled scallops, although they do appear on the Celiac Menu. Lately, I would order a larger portion of New England Clam Chowder for my entire meal.
This 'Crispy Seafood' actually sounded tasty for us non-Celiac people. So I stopped by and ordered some take out. After some initial confusion, the order was placed for Crispy Shrimp so
bouncygryphon might try some. When the order was almost ready, the young lady appeared and said it came with two sides. I thought she said "potato, French fries, and seaweed salad". I now think she said "Caesar salad", but with Legal Sea Foods you never know. I thought French fries were not gluten free. She said the chef said he would make them. I ordered the fries, and a potato in case the fries were terrible. She said the fries would take an extra 15 minutes, which I said was fine.
When I got home, we tried the Crispy Shrimp and the gluten-free fries. Both were good and seemed less greasy than Fried Shrimp and normal French fries. It may confuse the staff, but I may have to keep ordering from the Celiac Menu.
