More politics

A nice long article on Barack Obama's economic policy. I love how pragmatic Obama is: he surrounds himself with experts and listens to what they have to say, he looks at the results of past policy, and his goal is to improve the lot of the majority of Americans, not just Wall Street. Choice quote from one of the experts: “I’ve never worked with a campaign that was more interested in what the research shows.”

Cool little tool that shows how much of a tax cut Obama's plan would give you. Those with income over $100,000 would probably not get a tax cut, but for every income level under that, Obama would cut taxes far more than McCain would.

Andrew Sullivan's blog: lots of good links from this guy. He's a gay, libertarian-ish conservative who supports Obama despite disagreeing with quite a few of his policies. He's pissed off about the Palin nomination and McCain's campaign tactics in general.

McCain/Ham Sandwich 08!

This one's about business rather than politics: phased retirement, interesting idea. I like it, it treats the employees like people instead of interchangeable cogs, and if well-executed it could benefit both the workers and the company quite a bit.

business, politics
