And it goes by the name of
Fallen London. I know that you all have probably already received an earful about this game from your (Hetalia-centric) flist, but I figured I'd do my part to round up the stragglers.
Anyway, imagine that Neil Gaiman, H.P. Lovecraft, Victorian pulp novels, and Sweeney Todd had a baby. Now imagine that this baby is a browser-based interactive game. Are you beginning to grasp the wonder?
Head up to the link at the very top, and you can hop right in. All you need is a Twitter account. It's seriously not that hard. I mean, my experience with videogames begins and ends with Mario Kart, and I've still managed. I guarantee you that you are all more predisposed to succeed than I was.
But wait, it gets better!
Because a lot of us are dorks, we've decided to start RPing our characters, using both IC Twitter accounts (I'm
Nicholas Craddok), and a
shiny new comm! You don't have to Twitter IC in order to RP on the comm, or vice versa. Your level of involvement is totally your decision, but it's a real blast no matter which way you slice it.
Just as a last note, don't worry about coming to play with us, or feel all weird about talking with people you've seen in fandom, but never really broken the ice with. We're all here for the same reason: we love us some AU steampunk Victoriana, and don't mind getting caught messing around on our Blackberries, pretending to be shapely young pickpockets.
And, like, you guys. There are
FSTs already, and fic is totally forthcoming from every badass author you know.
Twitter-based Turkish Delight. And you won't regret it.
