Election Day 2008

Nov 04, 2008 13:03

I don't have a lot of time before my next class, so I'll be brief. I've got CNN blaring in the background right now and there's talk of long lines, the Hispanic vote, registration, "drill, baby, drill" and "yes we can". All I know is that I'm so fucking glad this is over. Don't get me wrong, I love politics, but this election has been going on for so damn long. What in the world are the news networks going to report on now? They'll have to cause natural disasters themselves, just to have something to talk about.

I already voted. Got hollered at by Young Dems and Young Reps. I think they think that Independents are just wishy-washy morons who can't make up their minds. Sorry, guys, but I thought about my party long and hard, and I'm not changing just because you throw campaign buttons at me.

I'm really excited about watching the results come in tonight (I know that Obama will win. I'd rather he didn't, but he will), but I'm even more excited about heaving a sigh of relief, ditching all this mudslinging bullshit, and settling in for the next four years.
