Merry Christmas from Southwest Airlines

Dec 28, 2007 15:15

This morning I was awakened at 10 o'clock in order to pack my bags and have some breakfast. We left the house at 11 in order to catch our flight at 2:30. We made it to Hobby Airport by 12:00 and were at our gate by 12:30. Unfortunately, on checking the Departure times we found out our flight was delayed until 4:50. Big deal, we thought. These are the risks you take flying in the wintertime. But 4:50 turned into 6:00 turned into 6:30 turned into 7:00, so now I'm sitting here on my mom's computer fucking bored out of my skull just waiting.

So, i figured I'd recap my awesome holiday and pass some time.

We got into houston on Saturday, and that night after my uncle, aunt, mom, dad, cousin, and I split about 5 bottles of wine, my cousin Austin and I caught up over a few (too many) Jack 'n Cokes, but it was a great time. On Sunday, Trevor and I went with my cousin Collin and some of his friends to see (of all things) Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was brutally sucky. After buying some beers and heading to his friends house to drink them, however, my Mom called and bitched me out telling me we needed to come home. What's the fucking point of being 21 anymore, anyway?

Monday, watched a TON of The Office season 3 and read some Fear and Loathing outside in the beautiful 65 degree weather. later, drank more wine.

Christmas was nice, and we had a huge amount of food, so I stuffed myself retarded and then later went on a cruise around their lake and looked at people's christmas ornaments. Later: hahaha... more wine.

Wednesday, we opened presents (Collin had to work christmas day and Austin had a christmas party to go to, so we didn't do that tuesday) and then later went and saw Alien vs. Predator (which was ALSO brutally sucky). Yesterday was our last night in town, so we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see their Lucy exhibit. For those of you who may not know, Lucy is an Australopithecine skeleton, which is basically our oldest evolutionary ancestor. It was very interesting, and I think I like that museum better than the History museum in Chicago. No, I know I like it more.

Later, my parents and I went wine tasting. That was a LOT of fun. This place had samples for which they charged you from 1-3 dollars for a taste, and I learned a lot about tasting wine and different varieties.

So long story short: Houston is warm, wine rules, the office is funny, Southwest Airlines sucks, and I'm looking forward to parties all weekend. Cheers!
