so much time has passed....
It's been forever since I have posted. I can't believe how much has happened since last I wrote. I also can't believe how unbelievably silly I used to be. Reading past journals was definitely amusing.
Darrek and I ended up getting married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on January 14, 2007. Our immediate families were there with us. Jenn and Kim stood up for me and Erik stood up for Darrek. We had so much fun that week! It was one of the best weeks of my life. I got to spend time with my family, relax on the beach, and try new things. We went whale watching and zip driving thru the jungle! I got to swim with dolphins... it was awesome! Best of all I got to marry the man of my dreams. It was a wonderful wedding. We got married barefoot on the beach. My daddy walked me down the aisle. There was an amazing sunset and we were surrounded by friends and family.
In March, my dad passed away. He had another heart attack and was in a coma for a week. That was the most horrible and emotional week of my entire life. Praying that he would be ok and then finally having to face that he wasn't coming back to us. I miss him terribly. Life just isn't the same without him in it. I will never forget all he did for me. Love you and miss you Daddy. After my dad died I realized how short life is and how it can change in an instant. It made Darrek and I realize that we didnt' want to wait any longer to have kids so we started trying...
On our sixth month anniversary, the day of our wedding reception, I found out I was pregnant! I was so happy and nervous at the same time. Darrek was very excited too! We couldn't wait to tell everyone. My mom was very happy and so were Darrek's parents. We had our ultrasound in November and found out that we were having a baby boy! Darrek was ecstatic! March 11, 2008, my water broke at 1:30am. I called my mom and Darrek and we got to the hospital at about 3:30am. Labor wasn't as bad as I had anticipated but still no walk in the park. At 10:26am, my son Brody Steven Beach was born. He was 8lbs, 9oz, 20 inches long, and the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I never knew how hard it was to be a parent. It is a lot more work than you would expect, but the joy it brings makes it more than worth it. I can't believe how fast time flies. He will be 1 in just a couple weeks!
I'm an Aunt now too! Jenn had a beautiful baby boy on Januarty 24, 2009. Brock Steven Burroughs. I'm glad she had a boy, Brody and Brock can grow up together and have someone to play with.
Life is pretty good right now. I love my family so much and I'm very blessed to have so much.
