year end fic meme
For once in about FIVE years I've actually written enough fic to do this meme:
Total number of completed stories: For ease of calculation, I'm going to ignore all the little ficlets I wrote for memes (not that there were many), and I'm going to count the whole Cookie Fic, even though I wrote the first half in 2011, so basically, I am having a very difficult time following the very simple rules of this meme.
I am really bad at math, so:-
Cookie: 1
Beezus: 13
Random RPS: 2
The GG AU where Emily is Lorelai, except it's not finished, so I don't know if it counts or not: 1
That one fic where Emily is almost a mother 5 times but wasn't: 1
So, 18? Did I add right? Let's say 18. Wow, this meme is going to be long.
Total word count:
Cookie: 15,882
Beezus: 27,951
Miranda: 8,371
Let's exclude the Random RPS because they were super short.
I don't have a calculator, so let's just say around 52,000. That's a lot, for me.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Waaaaaaaaay more than I expected. I'd forgotten that I could write.
What's your own favorite story of the year?
I could dot the I's, and you could cross the T's
This is pretty much the only fic I wrote that turned out almost exactly like I wanted it. I want to like Cookie best, but in the end it's not entirely what I wanted to write, but I managed to finish something for once, which is an accomplishment in itself.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
I decided to write a fic from the POV's of 13 different secondary characters. Needless to say, it didn't work. I made it to Chapter 5, at least?
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I really should get started on my memoirs. More people need to know about Alcoholic Boss.

this is me judging you, mostly because Chad would fuck me up if I didn't say his story was the best.
My most popular story of this year:
According to my AO3 stats, the one where Emily Prentiss is Lorelai Gilmore.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
The Chad fic, probably.
Most fun story to write:
Tomorrow We'll Go to the Fair. I'm fairly certain it's the only fic the writing process of which I didn't cuss through 90%.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
Clap Your Hands If You Believe, since it's pretty much the only fic that actually HAS sex in it. Also, I got a really nice comment from someone who said the sex bits was "hot as fuckall." (It's bareback het impregnation fic, so you are warned, lesbians.)
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
None.
Hardest story to write:
It's a toss up between Cookie and the Criminal Minds Gilmore Girls AU. I find continuing stuff to be really hard.
Biggest Disappointment:
That I have to go to work instead of writing babyfic for a living.
Biggest Surprise:
The fact that apparently I ship Prentiss/Rossi! Yeah, I don't even know. NO REGRETS, BITCHES.
