ANOTHER YEAR ANOTHER SDCC! WOW... can you guys believe it's been over a year now since we launched this crazy train? I swear I thought the nice people with the white coats that button in the back would have caught us by now.
But YOU can catch us this year at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, the largest group of insane people on the planet assembled in one place... And I'll be there at the brand new, bigger, better, Keenspot booth with lots of goody goodness to share with those of you who will be able to attend.
But we'll discuss more on that in future updates. For now, what I want to find out is HOW many of you guys think you might be in attendance? Let me know through TWITTER, or
FACEBOOK, or
FORMSPRING, or the DISQUS pages, or
LIVEJOURNAL, or
E-MAIL, or... carrier pigeon. However you choose to correspond, at least we have a way. The more of you who let me know, the better idea I'll have for some cool stuff to bring and how much to take with me... so it'll only help you score some cool swag if you do.
...JAPAN NEEDS HEROES PART DUEX.What a month! As you may have noticed, I've been unable (not technically lazy, but you can call me that if you want) to update the Livejournal in awhile. But during the past month a LOT has been going on. So much, in fact, I didn't get a chance to TELL you guys.
First off, with our first kickstarter campaign, we managed to raise nearly $18,000 for the victims of the tragedies in Japan in a little over a month! But the response was so immense, and the book has gotten so big with talent (such as STAN LEE, Brandon Peterson, Peter David, Mike Deodato, Jimmy Palmiotti, Larry Hama and much more) that we just HAD to extend a second phase! Now we've added even more tiers, and the list of talent STILL isn't complete.
So if you're a creator, join in. The deadline is extended into the middle of June! If you're a fan, go bug your favorite creators and DEMAND they join this book. I think with your help, we could reach our overall goal of a total of $100,000!
THE SPECIALISTS GO TO HAYDEZ! Well folks, nagging sometimes pays off. I've been asking the folks over at
The Specialists to do a guest page for the past six months or so. Well they finally caved to the pressure and did one... featuring Haydez in all of his epic glory! I was literally blown away. And if you take a dive through the archive of their WWII Superhero webcomic, I think you will be as well. But not until after you see the very cool pin-up they did this past Sunday!
EXPOSURE ISSUE #4 FINISHING UP! In the midst of running around, I neglected to announce Issue #4 of everyone's favorite scantily-clad investigators, EXPOSURE. The girls investigate a monster that forces them to reflect on things in their own lives...
Start reading this title, featuring the titillating artwork of comic veteran, AL RIO updating every Monday through Friday (with a bonus on Sunday). Each issue deals with a different "secret menace" to the modern world, and it's a sexy mix of X-Files and Charlie's Angels. So head on over and give it a read!
SECOND ISSUE AND A NEW DIRECTION! We're proud to announce that Shockwave Darkside is well into its second issue now, with a new art team, and a new direction. This issue jumps in long after the events in Issue #1 and we get a glimpse of the events leading up to the movie!
Shockwave Darkside is the webcomic book prequel to the upcoming shot-in-3D feature film by the same name. Like its counterpart it is presented in 2D and anaglyphic 3D as well. It's a science fiction comic set in the future and follows the last great war of mankind... set on the surface of the moon. Two warring factions, the "godless" Unlight and the religious "Banished" as they battle each other for the dwindling resources they both desire, orbiting a dead earth.
