I would welcome a conversation with you as well.

You'll understand he has the priority slot?

I do. It is your time I am seeking, and you wish to see him first.

I do not wish anything, but I do have an obligation.

And he might not be so willing to let you have your time afterwards, you know. I don't think he intends to see me leave our chat breathing.

So if you wish to talk, now would be a good time; so long as you understand there are certain rules. One of which is I will see that man, whatever means it takes.

I don't intend to stop you from seeing him.

I see. Very well, then let us talk now.

I saw the way the Animus treated you, using a daughter you obviously cared about against you. From that I took a favorable impression. I know Al was fond of you as well, and while he's prone to wanting to like people, he does often have the right impression of people.

I'm surprised by what I've heard since getting back to the network. This is my own desire to know, combined with being asked to talk to you - why did you kill Ginia?

Oh? I would have thought my somewhat callous disregard to that voice would have lowered ones opinion of me.

He was fond of me, perhaps, but he is no longer. Doesn't that say something?

You must realize by now that that is the thing everyone wants to know, and they're still waiting on an answer.

So. Who asked?

They knew what would affect you. Your reaction didn't matter as much as what they brought up.

Yes, and I'm betting that was purposeful.

Of course it's what everyone wants to know. There's no way to expect anything different. There's somewhat of a mob mentality to this city, since there's no leadership and we're thrown into so many events. It happened with the Joker, it was bound to happen to any other deaths.

Unlike most, this sort of thing is my job back home. I investigate deaths and deal with the fallout, as messy as it may get. I can promise fairness instead of an emotional reaction. It may be the best offer you'll get, though I have to say I don't know for sure. I did miss the early portions of this.

Someone whom I think wants to trust.

Interesting conclusion. I wonder how true it may be.

Was it, hmm? I did kill a woman he was very close to.

If there were leaders, she was one of them. So even without the mob mentality, I do not doubt her death would have caused...quite a stir.

Your job, is it? Well, 'back home', my job is to be First Wizard. It has a rather complicated sort of duties and requirements, including a need for the understanding of secrecy. Emotionless your evaluation may be, but it would still require detailing a rather complex set of motives when, with all due respect, I hardly trust the line we are on.

And you'll have to be more specific. If you're afraid of fallout, that does seem silly. I haven't killed anyone since Ginia, have I?

I am as well. The Animus haven't been entirely predictable.

Exactly. And you don't seem to be an unintelligent person. With many murders it's an emotional issue underlying the killings - they were abused, the person they killed represented something they feared, and so on. But those people tend to be deficient mentally or emotionally. You don't fit the normal profile.

The line can be made more secure, if you wish. I do know my way around gadgets and security. I'd suggest meeting in person, but you've got an appointment.

It's not just that I want to protect their life. I want to protect their faith, too. They asked in a private message.

Hmm. There are reasons for killing, sir, that can be very complex. I have...information...that I would prefer not find its way to a number of people. Namely, anyone who is not Ginia or Myself. And you see how I solved the other half of that problem.

In person would work, though if you're around when Michio shows up, I cannot guarantee your personal safety.

Mm. Faith, no doubt, I've broken, yes?

That urge tends to link back to criminal organizations. While it seems we have scattered members who would fit into various leagues, I haven't seen a coherent group. I see. So she was a problem, then?

I can protect myself. [Unhackable]When and where?[End Unhackable]

No. Faith in me. The message was private to me.

Does it, now? I've found most murders stem from otherwise rational men and women. Yes, crime occasionally plays a part, but by and large, it isn't some sinister plot...merely foolishness and stupidity controlled by emotion.

Can you? [Unhackable]There is a storage facility where I used to live, at [x,y]. I'll show you how to find my research on this place, as well. It should go to the Elric brothers, I think, since it seems the rest of us looking into this place have been vanishing. [End Unhackable]

I doubt that very much. If they asked you to look after me, I should think there is a great deal of faith in you.

Perhaps your world is different. I'll allow for that. But I've dealt with a lot of murderers, and a vast majority of them weren't rational. From Barry the Chopper to Shou Tucker... there was something that had snapped in them. When I spoke of organization, I was referring to the information you wished to hide. That type of a motive is often linked to something more widespread.

I investigate crimes, often violent ones. I have plenty of people who don't like me, especially when I've found a suspect. [Unhackable]I'm headed there now. It should take me about twenty minutes to a half hour, tops. I'd noticed that too. I'm sure the Elrics would be glad to have it, and I don't have to talk about my source if you don't wish me to.[End Unhackable]

I think you misunderstand what I was saying. I do not wish to break their faith in my ability to keep things private that they wanted private. I have no desire to fail their trust.

Well, the first wizard rarely investigates crimes, but I didn't mean that the commission of these acts were rational...but that, often as not, the men who did them were widely considered rational.

And given the lack of widespread groups here, that's a bit reaching, isn't it?

I hope so. [Unhackable] I'll be there. [End Unhackable]

Hmm. Perhaps.

I am sorry I hurt the boy.

Some men considered rational do murder. It often takes high amounts of pressure, though, and there's a point which you can normally see where the break takes place. I'm not seeing one yet with you.

It is. This isn't entirely adding up.

I'm glad to hear it, though I think he'd like to hear it more. He's a very sensitive soul.

I'll not talk to Alphonse. There's been enough damage done.

((ooc: I'd love to talk it over in AIM, but my schedule doesn't mesh well with people.
