This is Albus Dumbledore, and I have an announcement to make to the entire wizarding population of Great Britain.
Voldemort is dead.
The war against the dark is over.
Later this evening I will make the same announcement over the WWN, so that there can be no more doubt.
I must urge a certain amount of caution - there are still dark wizards at large, however those few that remain are scattered and leaderless, their cause is lost. It will only be a matter of time before they are apprehended.
I ask you all to join with me now in expressing my heartfelt sorrow and condolences to those families who have lost loved ones. Those who have fought bravely and returned from the war with shattered lives.
We owe so much to those few who gave their lives for our freedom.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know that things will never be the same again, and that there is nothing that I can say or do that will be of much help in this time of grief, however, I would like to come and see you all, if possible. Please let me know when will be most convenient.
