Not bad, huh? It's mostly a copy of my old Yellow Pages ad. Since I'm working with someone now, I might have to come up with a business name, though ( Read more... )

It took a bit of doing, but I've got a sizeable amount of bit now. We can probably cover the first and last month's rent with this, and a bit of food after that.

I like the ad! Really, that suits me fine. Back home, I did all of my shopping of this sort at Pandora's Box, and I never really considered opening my own place.

Thanks. You sure you don't want your name on it too? You're putting up more of the money for this operation, so advertising as partners (well, two humans, and two Digimon) might be more honest.

Does that mean I can have my name on the ad too?

We'll see. Four people might end up making it look like a law firm.

I wouldn't even know where to begin. I'm still not too sure I want to reveal my real name here after saying so much about my being a hero, and with all that I've said so far I don't dare say my alter ego's name.

Sorry about the trust issues... I'm normally better than this, but... What I've said here in the past week would probably get me killed in less than a day in my world... It's rather vexing.

But anyway, yes, your name is fine on the business. I'm not really a wizard or anything, so it might be false advertising. I'd make a good tutor, certainly, but not much else...

I've never had a problem with using my name, as long as I don't tell people my full, true name. Then again, it really throws the supernatural community for a loop when you operate publicly. Most of them are still stuck in the Dark Ages where threatening to expose you as a magic-user actually meant something.

That and I'd have even more problems with the police if I insisted on being called Wizard-man or something. Most of the ones outside of SI already think I'm either delusional or a con-artist.

Really?

It astounds me how many worlds don't take magic seriously.

Back in Paragon City, the government is actively involved with magic. I've got a job with M.A.G.I. in my heroic identity. It's pretty commonly accepted and embraced by the population...

A lot of the supernatural creatures like it that way. They already have to deal with the White Council -- they'd rather not have to deal with the mundane government as well. That and some of them, like the White Court, have their own connections.

That and I think it makes people uncomfortable -- the fact they're so powerless against a vampire, or a fae. Since it's not staring them in the face most days, they'll ignore it.

Ah, well... that makes sense, I suppose.

In my world, it's not really something that can just be avoided. In fact, I can barely remember what life was like before everything went all topsy turvy...

Between the Rikti Invasion of 2002, the chaotic presence of the Malleus Mundi, and a whole host of smaller events across the globe, the world really changed. I guess the presence of so many super powered individuals in my world kinda balances out the power distribution in a world that other ways don't have...

Sounds like it. You really weren't kidding -- it all sounds like a comic book.
