So, it's been twenty-nine days since I've sent out a signal on this thing. That's alright by me, I think. That's the bare minimum amount of effort for this blog that I can live with myself for. Not too much has happened with me that I can't catch people up, and not too many post have happened on my friend's list that I can't bring myself up to speed. So, that's part of what I'll be up to this weekend and this next week. I cannot deny that I have an appreciable measure of reading and writing ahead of me...
*pings the system*
We're back on radar. ;)
I tend to view my life in cycles and orbits. Some of them are larger than others. Work, school studies, and intimate relationships I keep on very short rotations, while many of my creative projects (which includes this blog), as well as various other things, I tend to extend out into much wider revolutions. Largely, things get prioritized based on their immediate necessity, but also secondarily around simply what makes me happy with life.
Heh, I remember a specific project I was doing on the computer once, that took about six years. Man, it felt good when I finally finished it -- but you can bet everyone around me who knew about it had completely given up hope of seeing it complete by the time I finally presented it. I won't deny that it has sometimes been hard for me to keep heart, myself, when the days turn to weeks, months, and then years..... But, the older I get, the more accustomed I find I'm becoming to often extremely extended life and project process times. I find I'm also getting pretty skilled at effectively setting something aside and picking it up right where I left off when I come back to it, too. Hrrm, that's one of those 'signs of age' things, isn't it? ;p I might also add -- it's kind of fun to see the look of surprise on people's faces when I show up with something completed that they had long thought I had abandoned. Lols.
Yes, friends, I have many projects that come around slower than Christmas, and even a few of them that are very important to me that come around slower than Duke Nukem Forever. Now, that's a unique (non-?) accomplishment, if you ask me. ^.^
I'm curious what's been going on around here in my recent lacuna.... What will you get to hear about from me? Welp, I went on vacation with
scion8 in Arkansas, started up a Death Knight on World of Warcraft, finished an art project for my studies with the Feri group I'm with, went to QuakeCon 2010, got registered for the next semester of college, and have been consistently consumed with the ongoing cleaning, organizing, decorating, and establishment of order in my new home and in the rest of my life. I'll be making posts and providing more information on all of that in the intended daily posts following this one!
