Can I borrow someone's fingernails? I've bitten mine down to the quick...
Today will be either a very VERY good day, or a very VERY bad day... The reason I know this: Today is the day all Unpublished Romance Writers look forward to all year long. The day the Golden Heart Nominations (the biggest award in unpublished romance writing) are announced. I have three manuscripts (FOR BETTER OR WORSE, BLOWING JACK'S COVER and THE MARRIAGE PACT) in the running (one of which, TMP, was nominated last year). It's such a HUGE deal. More than 1000 manuscripts are in the running. 200+ in many of the categories, and only 10% with a maximum of 9 nominees in each category. A nomination also gets you entry into the "cool club", whereby editors and agents pay a lot more attention to you.
I know of at least three people who have received that magical phonecall this morning. (The public announcement doesn't go out until Monday) I just really want to be one of them!!!
