1. Name: Stephanie

3. Location: Virginia, U.S.A.
4a. Three positive adjectives to describe yourself: observant, open-minded, sympathetic
4b. Three negative adjectives to describe yourself: avoidant, unmotivated, reserved
5. If you could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would you go, and why?: I’m a bit of an anglophile so I love England, but having been there before, I’d love the chance to see India or China. The foreign experiences would be amazing and it’ll be helpful to understand the cultures better since I think we’re going to see big global changes coming from both countries. Plus I want the chance to see something besides my blandish suburban monotony.
6. Explain the significance/meaning/origin of your username : Truth is, I kinda hate my username. I was having particularly lethargic/apathetic moment while trying to think up a name and was thus “inspired.” Now I seem like just another teenage cliché. I think my first attempt at a LJ account name was a million times better: pantsless1.
7. What's your favorite holiday, and why?: Halloween. I love love love candy. I also love the excuse to pretend to be someone different for a little while at least. I wouldn’t be caught dead cosplaying on a normal day, as it just ain’t my cup of tea.
8. Favorite three books (besides Harry Potter): Tonto and the Lone Ranger Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie (hilarious/sad/strange), The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood (amazing/frightening), Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (witty/charming/Darcy)
9. What is or was your favorite and or best subject in school? I loved my history, psychology, and journalism classes, but I guess I’d pick history as the overall winner. I think it’s just amazing to see all these connections and cause/effect relationships throughout time and how they each helped shape the world. It’s just a complete mind feck to think how different the world could be if just one incident was changed. History is awesome. : D
10. If you could ask JKR one question, what would it be? Why Lupin? WHY? I loved him so. Don’t give me the BS about literary continuance (AKA the kizilling off of all the Marauders). I worship the ground she walks on, but seriously. And, oh God, Fred as well?
11. Which of the Harry Potter books thus far was your favorite, and why?: HBP. Specifically the end of HBP. After many, many readings, I still cry big, soppy, emo-worthy tears. I think it’s one of the strongest, most moving, most well crafted parts throughout the series. The book as a whole, I feel, is a great coming together of the series.
12. If you could have the power to perform one spell, and only one spell, absolutely flawlessly for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? The accio charm. I’m always losing things, so it would be a lovely. It seems like it’d be the most practical and helpful spell for a lifetime’s use.
13. What House do you honestly think you’d end up in, and why?: My friends usually tell me I’m a Ravenclaw with bits and pieces of the other houses thrown in and I’d guess I agree, though I sometimes think it’s a little boring. Some of the largest parts of my personality are my intellectual curiosity and my love/obsession of learning more about things that interest me just for the sake of knowing it. While I do have large dollops of the idealism that comes with Gryffindors, my practical side would rather have me participate in a feasible solution then work on a hopeless cause just to say I worked on it. Like Hufflepuffs, I value the importance of being loyal and just, but I avoid the hard-working part like the plague. And I have my ambitions and my subtle ways of achieving them but I have a feeling Slytherins know when they’re Slytherins. Plus Machiavelli was kind of a douche. =/
14. Are you willing to accept cross-gendered votes/stamps?: Sure.
15. Anything else we should know?: Um. Probably. Oh! I’m probably going to major in law, I’m editor-in-chief for my school’s paper which is amazingly fun/stressful, I participate/watch/review in/about HS plays, I’m in charge of organizing my chapter of Amnesty International and uh. I insult those I love. I overuse commas. I also enjoy pie.
