4a. Three positive adjectives to describe yourself: One of the best ways to describe me is easy-going. I’m of the good-natured sort who prefers to not get upset by things I find insignificant (aka high school drama). In other words, I don’t sweat the small stuff. I’m just not difficult. Second, I am honest, usually bluntly so. I don’t beat around the bush. Thirdly, I’m pretty comforting, a good listener. I can’t count the times my friends have called me up at 1 AM troubled and typically they come to me with their worries. I’m pretty good at cheering people up as well (mainly because I have a decent sense of humor).
4b. Three negative adjectives to describe yourself: Stubbornness. Oh boy am I stubborn. I can not stand being told what to do especially when I see no basis in the order. It is like I get this righteous indignation in me at the person, I think “Who are you to tell me what to do?” Then I usually go out of my way to do exactly what they told me not to do. Secondly, I have hot temper and it explodes when I’m pushed too far. Yes, I try not to let things bother me but even I have a breaking point. I can get into a rage completely contrary to my nature, my blunt tongue saying things that probably shouldn’t be said. Thirdly, I’m a pretty independent creature and thus, in a strange paradox, I love to give my help but I rely on myself typically for my problems. It’s difficult for me to involve people and worry them with my own stuff.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would you go, and why?: London, if not because I have a desire to marry a British man. No, no, seriously. I’ve always loved the culture and I think it would be simply fun to be there. I plan on being a writer so what better place to lose myself than London?
6. Explain the significance/meaning/origin of your username: Several things, really. “Aurora” is the name of the princess in Sleeping Beauty (both the ballet and Disney movie) and it is also a name of the main character in my novel (of course, it’s a bit more complicated than that). That’s also where the “Rose” comes into play because it is a throwback to “Briar Rose” (my favorite form of Sleeping Beauty, anyways) and it’s the family my main character belongs to. I just added “Shine” for good measure (nothing wrong with shiny objects!)
7. What's your favourite holiday, and why?: Christmas. I go crazy at Christmas with my gift-giving (I’m almost always broke immediately after the holidays because of this). I love the whole spirit of the holiday and the message: Good will to all men. Everything is just happy at Christmas.
8. Favourite three books (besides Harry Potter): Just three? Hmm, making this difficult on me. Ok, Ok. If I had to pick: Wicked, Twilight, The Time Traveler’s Wife.
9. What is or was your favourite and or best subject in school? I enjoyed English probably the most but mostly for the writing aspect. I love to read but I like to pick what I read. I didn’t get very many chances in high school for real creative writing but when I did, I loved it. I didn’t really have a “best” subject because I have to work for the grades I get and, usually, my best subjects were the ones I enjoyed the most. If I’m bored with something (like math), I don’t apply myself as much as I should.
10. If you could ask JKR one question, what would it be? Well, gosh, now that the series is over, there are tons of little things aren’t there? Hmm…one question. I think I would be curious about the stuff leading up to the epilogue, relationship-wise. I would want know about Harry and Ginny’s early years of marriage. I’m just weird like that…
11. Which of the Harry Potter books thus far was your favorite, and why?: Half-Blood Prince. I loved all of the back-story with Voldemort. It made me laugh more (Hermione set a flock of birds on Ron, for crying out loud) and cry more (for obvious reasons). It was just a very well-rounded book, in my opinion. But the best scene is still Harry’s confrontation with the Minister, brandishing his scarred hand with the words “I must not tell lies.” I pretty much whooped out loud at that.
12. If you could have the power to perform one spell, and only one spell, absolutely flawlessly for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? While it’s one of my dearer ambitions to get a hold of a broomstick…I’ll go with apparition because gas prices are a bitch aren’t they? Ha, no seriously. I would love to be able to flit around to my heart’s content. I hate being cooped up in a house, I feel caged in. Plus, taking a cue from Fred and George, I would be the type to instantly appear really close to someone and scare them. I have a bit of a goofy/mischievous streak to me.
13. What House do you honestly think you’d end up in, and why?: I know I wouldn’t be in Slytherin because while I have ambitions, I’m not going to step all over people to achieve them. I wouldn’t be in Ravenclaw because, while I’m not dumb, I’m not a genius (although I can be quite witty). I’m a cross between a Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff, this I know. I wish there was something like the Sorting Hat that could get inside my head and decide for me because this question is hard for me. I have a lot of Hufflepuff qualities (honest, fair, loyal) but I’m also quite willing and able to stand up and roar when the situation warrants it. Anyways. After all that’s said and done…the answer is one of those because I’m a strange in between case.
14. Are you willing to accept cross-gendered votes/stamps?: Sure
15. Anything else we should know?: This is a restamp. I was stamped as Neville first and, while I really love me some Neville, I truly don’t see myself in him. I’ve elaborated as best I could so hopefully…yeah. Thanks for reading!!
16. Please post at least three clear pictures of yourself:
