weekend.

Long weekend.

Thursday evening: After work, went out for seafood dinner at "Crab Shack." with Ms. T, Ta and her BF V to celebrate Ta's B-day. Not an establishment that I would normally patroniza, as I am somewhat "allergic" to shellfish. The hostess and greeters apparently had this stock line "Is this your first visit ?" that I heard three times before getting my drink order taken. Each time I answered "No" (No as in "I can only eat about half a dozen of your menu items, everything else would make me ill"), but each time I said no, they just acted surprised and carried on. I was expecting some sort of "new guest" speech, where they tutored me about there bibs or special drinks or something. But no. They also have that thing were the servers all stop taking care of there tables are do some ridiculous line dance for no apparent reason. I hate that. Annoying for the customers, and it must be humilating for the servers.

Thursday evening 2nd restaraunt: Happily, V had a hankering for some hot wings as well as sea-insects, so after the 'Shack, we headed over to Buffalo Wild Wings. Just in time, too as I was starting to get a headache from breathing the crab-air mixture. I hadn't been to BWW in recent memory, so I was excited to try some new wings. They definetely had a nice selction of sauces. They standard "hot" was good, and we also tried some of their hottest sauce ("blazing" or somesuch), which managed to stay flavorful. The wings themselves were very very small. The miniscule size made the prices much less attractive.
Service was real bad, however. Couldn't get cream for the (bad) coffee, had to ask to get silverware, food came out at different times, only some people at the table got napkins. Not an experiance I'd like to repeat. Looked like it was a suburbua high school hangout, so the table staff were probably there more to be seen by there peer group than actually work or anything.

Weekend Fitness: Firday I went to the gym at ran on the treadmill 20 minutes, no leg stopping, no leg pain. Saturday, was a "Hundred Pushup", "200 Situp", "200 squat day". Day 2 of Weeks 3. Made it through all the programs OK, but my arms are still kind of sore in places. Also, since I installed an ad-hoc kitty gate to prevent small animal passage to and from the basement, I needed to perform a bit of one handed, high kicking gyumnastics to reach the stairs. And since I did about 8 loads of laundry over the weekend translating into several dozen of those maneuvers, I'm counting it as fitness.

Friday: Ms.T's brother's first art opening! http://www.pgharts.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=150117 Runs through August at 707 Penn ave gallery. Check ito out. The family put out a big spread of food and drink, and it turned into a big party - even saw a few folks that I haven't seen in a while. However, quite a bit of work. My big Win? Figuring out how to get an unidentified MAC OS computer to do a continuous slide show from a CD full of images.

Saturday Independence Day: Out Tarentum way for another family picnic. The hosts had a pen with a couple of goats. Cool. Later we headed back to Ms T's parents' place to watch the Pgh. fireworks on the hug TV (Looks like I'm not the only one that needs to fine tune his display settings), and hang out by the campfire and finsih the beer from the opening.

Sunday moving - Loaded up the rest of Ms T's kitchen stuff to move to my place. And I cleaned the inside of my vehcicle, which was kind of a pain in the ass. I can see why some people pay big bucks to have someone do that for them. Worth the effort though.

Weekend media Project: I've started (using Windows Meda Player) to rip all of my msuci CDs onto the hard drive of the media PC, so I can free up the space used to store them and their jewel cases (i.e. most of a bookcase). Kind of a slow operation, but The Boy seems to have taken an interest in helping, so maybe that wil help hurry things along.

So, back at work. Rehearsal tonight till late evening. PT tomorrow early morning, and I desperately need to start getting my Pennsic chores done and packing commenced.

And it seemes like I didn't get any good goat pictures. Maybe more kitty pictures later. Stay tuned.
