After months of fighting, talking to coworkers, researching, a couple of press with some good advice, I finally managed to talk to a lawyer yesterday.
I owe the cancellation fees. Basically the lawyer said that it doesn't matter that I didn't sign or agree to it, my sister presented herself as someone with the right to sign, so the contract sticks. Presumably I'm expected to pay the cancellation fee and then sue my sister or something. Right, like that's a good idea. According to her, Superior Energy did nothing wrong. Legally they may not have done anything wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that their agent coerced my sister into signing my house to a service I didn't want which is morally questionable at best.
Superior Energy, you win! I'll find someway of getting the cancellation fee to you.
At least I can stop worrying about it.
