important topics to discuss...
We need to chat about some of the things that have been happening... First off I'd like to say that if you think we're singling you out, DON'T. There's been quite a few to try and bend the rules lately or maybe they just weren't informed enough. Either way, I need to point out a few things... To some of you these things may be trivial, but if we set a challenge and it isn't followed properly, it defeats the whole purpose of the challenge!
1.) YOU MAY ONLY ICON THE MOVIES HERE. No book art, fan art, actor pictures, etc unless we specify otherwise. There has been much confusion about this lately, so I'm putting it out here now. If you didn't know before that's okay, but now you know... WHY ONLY THE ONLY THE MOVIES? Just because its easier to keep up with. This is a big place, so things need to be kept simple. If we're not specific enough, there will be lots of questions as to what counts. However, we do throw in the occasional challenge where just about anything goes.
2.) HUSH MEANS NO TEXT ALLOWED. Mostly this isn't a matter of rule breaking, but a matter of not knowing... So learn it now! Making text icons for a hush challenge isn't as much troublesome as it is a waste of your time.
3.) TEXT CHALLENGE HAS TO BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY. You must use three consecutive words. This means you must use at least three words IN A ROW. You may use other parts of the lyrics in the icon if you like, as long as you have the three consecutive words... Also, no using outside text. That's why we have the lyrics!
4.) VOTE FOR THE NUMBER OF ICONS WE TELL YOU TO. Usually we say vote for three icons. So vote for three icons damnit. Not one or two or four... Vote right, or don't vote at all. It just isn't fair to the contestants. NONE OF YOUR VOTES WILL BE COUNTED IF YOU DON'T VOTE PROPERLY!
Also, I'd like to say that this is a very high volume community. We try to keep an eye on things and make sure everything is done properly, but it is very hard for the mods to keep on top of everything. You need to double check EVERYTHING before you submit it. Sometimes we don't notice until its too late for you to re-submit, so it is YOUR responsibility!
Now that we're done with that, I want to talk more about the lims voting...
As you know, we're voting on Lims Challenge 1 right now... The results will be posted on Thursday, along with a new challenge.
I'm having you guys vote for icons you like the least (after all this is an elimination process), along with reasons... I know some of you are feeling kinda bitchy because you feel like you're saying someone's icon sucks. Don't feel that way because that's not what this is... You should be giving CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM so that icon makers are able to approve. (If you'd like to revise your vote, feel free to do so.)
The votes will NOT be unscreened. I don't need you guys mad at each other over some stupid votes... However, if you do want to hear what people said about your icon I will email it to you. I will give you that option when I post the results on Thursday.
