Well I didn't get the car. When dad and I went to see it again, it definetely didn't seem as nice when I used a more scrutenous eye. There were just so many little things wrong with it, and too many unknowns with the car that I didn't think it was worth what he was asking. One glitch my dad and I ran into when we were testing driving it, was that it would occasionally idle at a really high rpm (like 2000rpm) which was really weird because we'd be cruising on the highway at a lower rpm. Turning off the car and turning it back on fixed the problem temporarily, but it would keep popping up again now and then (which would be killer on gas mileage). The guy selling it explained that it was the Mass Airflow system he put on, and that it occasionally confuses the stock sensor in the manifold causing it to rev higher. My worry was that he wasn't 100% sure that that was it, and I was worried if it became more than occasional and ended up ALWAYS idling at 2000rpm. The paint was horrendous. What was sad is that the old coat of paint could be seen where the new coat had chipped away, and it looked perfectly fine, it would've been so much better had they not repainted it at all. Plus whoever did it didn't tape off anything, we noticed that there were some places where he had painted onto the windows and taillights. The top part of the car didn't look too bad paint wise, it was mostly from the molding down. Anyways, to make a long story slightly shorter, I didn't get it.
I was at the freddy beach cruise yesterday, and they have a TON more cars there now that they've made their venue larger. I was talking to one of my dad's mustang club buddies, and it turns out that he had actually helped to work on the mustang I had been looking at. He told me a bunch of problems that the guy who was selling it hadn't told me, and basically said what I suspected "that he was asking way to much for what it was worth!". So I definetely made the right decision on this count.
Tonight I'm having bible study over at my house. I'm looking forward to it, I haven't seen some of these people in a while. We're probably going to go swimming later as well.
I really don't think I'll be able to make it to Lee's cottage this weekend. I got one of my assignments today and it looks like it's going to take quite a while (darn that monotonous robot of a prof!!!)
I still haven't figured out who the mystery female caller was, and now I'm really curious.
anyways, that's all for now. cya
