After longer than I'd like of living with my parents, drinking, and reclusive resisting any and all attempts to have whatever meager post-breakup social life I could cobble together, I finally finished my big recording project. The last leg proved to be a frustrating one and tough on my stash of CD-Rs; a series of silly mistakes forced me to waste a CD on each of the last three tracks.
Originally, I burned them all together. Then, playing them back, I realized that I'd grabbed the wrong mix of "Autofade," which was missing Christy's harmony vocal and all lead guitar parts. Then, after I started reoutputting it, I noticed that "This Old Man" only played in one speaker. It was the right mix, but I'd mistakenly grabbed an empty track for the left channel. Nice. Since I didn't want anyone listening to the track to feel like they had water in their ears, I needed another CD-R for that. I'm hoping that's all behind me now.
It's good to be done. I'm pretty happy with the end product, too. Probably the best recording I've made, and well worth the time and money I put into it, as it was free to record and I wasn't really doing anything, anyway. Now that the ordeal is over, I plan to concentrate on purchasing a car and moving back to Eastown.
