ipad
the longer i spend with the ipad the more useful i find it.
i've pretty much ditched the pc for browsing the web now; the last dozen or so books i've bought have been in electronic format; and my only game addictions are currently angry birds and plants versus zombies.
what's more i'm actually starting to find productive uses for it too (beyond being a fantastic repository for reference materials).
this morning i had to design the layout for a web page. rather than hacking around in code or trying to describe it in words i just opened up the free SketchBook app on the ipad and within a couple of minutes had the whole thing roughed out.
being able to just turn the device on and start actually using it within a second or so is also something that it's easy to under-appreciate - until, that is, you spend a day reinstalling windows xp! it's also amazing how sluggish the latter seems even when it's running on a processor running at three times the speed as the ipad, in a machine with more than double the memory.
i just hope they don't release iPad 2 any time soon - because i'll have to buy it - the current form factor with a 'retina' display would be just amazing.
