Yea for Luke!
Gotta love Luke 'cuz he's just so incredibly sweet. I'm not really understanding why Lorelai is so attached to Christopher since he's ugly, pouty, selfish, and dull, but then, I never did get her attachment to Christopher. And seriously? What grown man do you know who must use his entire name--instead of just "Chris"--it either means he's some intense kind of wiener or completely self-involved. Or, in this case, both.
So, Luke takes orders from Emily after showing up without being asked, and Christopher shows up about 12 hours too late after ignoring his phone because he's licking his (very deserved) wounds, and Lorelai tearfully tells Chris next week that he's the man "she wants to want." Seriously? I guess you must be one of those girls who go for the homely, whiny types. Well, I say good for you, because that leaves Luke for me :) And really, that's stupid. If she wanted to want him so much, she would. She wants Luke because he's the better man. She wants to want the man that she wants Christopher to be (not the man he is) because he's Rory's dad and has Emily's seal of approval. It's not like she wants to want him because he's some great guy.
And how much did I love the look that Luke gave Christopher that just said, "do you want me to kick your ass again? 'cuz I will."?! Priceless.
So, Lorelai? Go get the loyal, loving, hard-working, self-sufficient, gorgeous guy who wants to be your doormat-in-a-good-way, and shut up with the tears and the whining over your loser high school boyfriend. K?
