The weekend ended up being strange but very fun, though I think I'm going to have to extend my resting-instead-of-working-on-forum period by another day. (Between lack of sleep and the general lack of productivity that comes with bad weather, today is a lost cause.) The weekend started out with a delicious Friday night dinner courtesy of
_dragonwolf_ in honor of Jared's arrival. Saturday began with minigolf, ice cream, and hanging with fun people, then concluded with Star Trek, pizza, strawberries, and hanging with fun people. Most of Sunday was just sitting around, followed by at least 8 hours of character creation and system testing for a friend's RP system. I have learned once again that if roleplaying isn't involved, I really prefer to play characters who smash things. (I keep forgetting, and thinking I like healers, but then I play a healer and remember the healer character I like is about 25% healer and 75% unstoppable force of destruction. Oh, Ruby Knight Vindicator/Chosen One of Wee Jas. You're so impossible to kill...)
Oh, the strange bit of the weekend mostly included being in Worcester without LARPing, overbooking instead of wasting a weekend, having an eye tic off and on for about forty-eight hours, and dreams that even I'll admit were strange. Particularly the one involving the courteous murderer and the old acquaintance he needed to kill. No one died, and I believe the killer was eating cake with someone towards the end, but both the acquaintance and I were hard-pressed to figure out why the murderer would be so nice and supposedly caring when he was, in the end, going to kill the acquaintance in some less than pleasant manner. I blame the dream on Obsidian Butterfly, but occasionally worry about those few things I have in common with Mishima.
Now, though I'm not working on the forum, I can at least put together a to do list:
(Yes, I know that's why I have the big post, but this is the short list of things I need to do ASAP, as opposed to the long list of everything. That's also had stuff added to it.)
- Figure out where I'm going to host the site.
- Figure out if I am, in fact, going to use PHP. (Nat, I know you dislike it, but it also does exactly what I want it to do! I'll look for alternatives, though...)
- Figure out what wiki program I'm going to use.
- Talk to
zapf about his magic system
- Talk to
rigel about her vampires
- Ask around to see who needs me to write the actual write ups
