Christmas MMXIX

Dec 25, 2019 16:13

As we look back on 2019, we fondly remember Lottie, who lived out her ninth life with us. She may have been simpleminded, but was no less affectionate for that.

Our newest household member is Eir, filling the vacancy left by Lottie’s passing. And like her predecessor, our newest addition is somewhat slow, as witnessed by how unresponsive she is to her name. But she’s above average in kitten adorableness.

Our other new addition is Baldur, because when considering our Senior Pet’s advancing age, we didn’t want to go without a Siamese cat. Which one will go first, however, is an unresolved question at this point in time, thanks to a congenital heart condition.

Naomi has delighted us with how she sings her concerts, enjoys her shows, and occasionally plays pranks on the other kids. She’s the princess of friendship.

Cookie has acquired an interest in archaeology. For her, the most interesting pottery fragments are the ones that came from jars.

When we lose our hearing prematurely, Saffron will get the credit. He justifies himself by pointing out that Wagner’s music is just that good.

Why would Posey act her age when there are so many places for jumping and running around like a constipated wiener dog?

Casey gets part of the credit for the hearing loss. As she gets older, she despairs of finding boys her age, because she’d rather remain an amazon, not become a cougar.

We’re so pleased that a picture Beatrix made was chosen for the cover art on her school’s upcoming yearbook. May this be a beginning in her artistic endeavors.

For Enoch, the highlight of his summer was equal parts visiting Yellowstone, and discovering the writings of Pat McManus during the trip.

The end of June saw Fafnir in a mad rush to get as many songs completed as he could for submission in the new hymnal. Whether his are chosen from among 17,000 other entries remains to be seen.

Klio says the reason she beeps like the smoke detector is to calm the bees in her head. Can’t argue with logic like that.

Now that Freya is old enough to drive, she wants us to move to Pasadena so she can be like the little old lady in the song. We tell her to just stick with “Fun Fun Fun.”

Ginny says she doesn’t do anything interesting. You wouldn’t think that if you were one of the children staring at her computer screen, now, would you.

Music was always a big deal for Eric, but becoming choir director and such has taken that to a new level. He also changed departments at work, giving him a chance to see what the Chinese would call “interesting times.”

As we anticipate the year 2020, let it be a year of vision, where all your wildest dreams might come true.
